Creation Day 1 ~ Earth, Space, Time, Light ~ Links

Let there be light - Creation Day 1 free printable Bible poster for kids

Admiring creation is like walking through a living art gallery. God’s artwork is on display, and although His creation is now marred from sin, the remnants are still magnificent. Creation portrays the beauty of God’s work in the first seven days of history. In this series, we are looking at each day of creation separately. In this post you will find FREE Creation Day One – colouring pages and Bible printables for when the Earth, space, light and even time itself were created. Click here if you missed the first post in this series: In the beginning… GOD. When God made something out of nothing… He simply spoke and then it was. Wow! He didn’t need time. He just needed talent. Incredible, amazing talent.

CREATION DAY 1 ~ Earth, Space, Time, Light

BIBLE VERSES

Genesis 1:1-5  In the beginning God created the heaven and the Earth. And the Earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. (Note: This is NOT the sun. God specifically told us that He created the sun on day 4. Think: light, as in the speed of light).

Job 26:7  He stretches out the north over the empty place, and hangs the Earth upon nothing. (Note: This is only a relative recent scientific discovery.)

Isaiah 40:22  It is he that sits upon the circle of the Earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.

Zechariah 12:1  The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretches forth the heavens, and lays the foundation of the Earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.

Ephesians 1:4-7  According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

CREATION DAY 1 ~ INFORMATION FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE

Day 1 – When God made something out of nothing – FREE article for kids  (creation.com) fun and full of scientific information from scientists who take the Bible seriously from the very first verse; free printable: On Day 1 of Creation Week, God made four important things:

  • Time. You may be surprised to learn that God had to create ‘time’ itself. ‘Before’ then, even time did not exist. Only God existed. He is eternal.
  • Space. God had to create space. This was so there would be somewhere for God to put everything after He had created it.
  • Matter. God also had to create the Earth. To begin with, He created the stuff which makes up the Earth, and lots and lots of water… God simply commanded it all to come into being, and it did. His Word is so powerful that this was all that was needed. At first, the Earth was all covered by water, so it wasn’t a molten blob. God’s Spirit was there. Over the next few days His power and energy would make the Earth into a beautiful place for animals and people to live. But first God brightened the place up with…
  • Light. In the beginning, it was very, very dark—inky black—everywhere. So, early on Day 1, having made time, space and matter, God then created light. How did He do this? He just said, ‘Let there be light!’ and there was light… At the end of Day 1, the Earth was still completely covered by water. If you had been there early on Day 2, you would have seen nothing but water.

Creation Week: Day 1  (answersingenesis) Before God began to create, there was absolutely nothing. God created everything we see from nothing! But what did He make on which day of Creation Week? We can read about what God made on Day One in Genesis 1:1-5; from scientists who take the Bible seriously

Seven Cs of History – Creation – article for kids  (creation.com) At first, there was nothing, nothing at all—apart from God. Then, Genesis says: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth.” How did God do this? He did it simply by commanding it to happen. Wow, what an amazing God He is—to create everything just by the power and authority of His word! When God did this, something else happened too—time began. Next, God created light. “God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light” (Genesis 1:3). This was not the sun, because God didn’t make the sun until Day 4. God can create light without the sun as a source. The Bible tells us that in heaven there will be no need of lamps or the sun “for the Lord God will be their light” (Revelation 22:5). This first light provided ‘day’ and ‘night’; beautifully illustrated, fun and full of scientific information from scientists who believe the Bible; the other 7C’s of History are: Curse; Catastrophe; Confusion; Covenant; Christ; Consummation; free printable

Creation – articles for kids  (creation.com) beautifully illustrated and full of scientific information from scientists who take the Bible seriously, like: Who made God?; print the whole article or share a snippet with your child; free printable

7C’s of History for kids – Creation – part 1 | part 2  (answersingenesis) part of the 7C’s of History – Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, Consummation—that help us remember the big events which have affected—and will affect—the history of the universe.

The Seven C’s – God’s outline and plan for history – free articles for kids  (answersingenesis)  We need a history book! Not a book written by men who make mistakes, but a book written by someone who never makes mistakes and would never tell a lie. What book is that? Who is its author? The book is the Bible! The author is God. The Bible gives us true history! Here is a summary, called the Seven C’s of History. Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, Consummation. These seven critical events provide the framework from which we can understand the world and what God is doing in history; more; free printable

Days of Creation – articles  (answersingenesis) print off a whole article or share a snippet with your child.

Let there be Light – family devotional  (answersingenesis) Which came first—light or the sun? Well, according to the Bible—God’s perfect record of the past—the answer is light. On Day One, God said, “Let there be light,” and light came blazing into the universe. Not until Day Four did our Creator design the sun and moon and put them in charge of the days and nights on earth; free printable

How did God create everything from nothing?  (answersingenesis) quick facts for kids from scientists who take the Bible seriously

101 scientiic facts written down in the Bible centuries before they were discovered  (eternal-productions); here are just four of them:

1. The Earth free-floats in space (Job 26:7). Other sources declared the Earth sat on the back of an elephant or turtle, or was held up by Atlas. The Bible alone states what we now know to be true – “He hangs the Earth on nothing.”

2. The First Law of Thermodynamics established (Genesis 2:1-2). The First Law states that the total quantity of energy and matter in the universe is a constant. One form of energy or matter may be converted into another, but the total quantity always remains the same. Therefore the creation is finished, exactly as God said way back in Genesis.

3. The universe had a beginning (Genesis 1:1; Hebrews 1:10-12). Science has confirmed the Biblical view that the universe had a beginning. When the Bible was written most people believed the universe was eternal. Science has proven them wrong, but the Bible correct.

4. The first three verses of Genesis accurately express all known aspects of the creation (Genesis 1:1-3). Science expresses the universe in terms of: time, space, matter, and energy. In Genesis chapter one we read: “In the beginning (time) God created the heavens (space) and the Earth (matter)… Then God said, “Let there be light (energy).” No other creation account agrees with the observable evidence.

…and many more; print off the whole article or share snippets with your child.

Genesis 1 – Bible commentaries  (blueletterBible) include a snippet in your letter or print off a whole article; tons of wonderful information here (both audio and text – my favourite is Dr Chuck Missler).

…a quantum physicist, describing what the first few microseconds of the creation of the universe would have looked like. He described in great detail the how contraction and expansion ratio had to be so precise and the margin of error so small. And he added that the exactness demanded of that moment was such that it would be the equivalent of taking aim at a one square inch object ~ twenty billion light years away ~ and hitting it bull’s eye!”

nextmanga  (for purchase) The story of the universe in manga form. A comic book Bible series that keeps kids/teens (and adults!) riveted. Book 1 (Mutiny) tells the story starting from creation in Genesis 1 and up to time of the Exodus from Egypt (somewhere around Exodus 15). And I love how they have added a few extra frames of background history to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the true villain of history. The top angel (a created being like us) rebels against the Creator; is kicked out of Heaven; becomes God’s arch enemy; and arrives on Earth to create mischief, mayhem and havoc with (as he sneers) ‘God’s favoured ones’ – humans. To rob, kill and destroy. Buy and send a few pages at a time. It’s also an excellent gift idea for a sponsor visit. My children loved these. Monica told us that it was her favourite book.  :)
