On Day 6 of creation week, God does the world’s very first surgery and makes Adam a beautiful bride. He is stunned with her beauty… and did you know (surgeon’s secret) that ribs CAN grow back?! :o

CREATION DAY 6 ~ God makes a BEAUTIFUL bride for Adam and WOW! SHE’S GORGEOUS!
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:26-31
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. Genesis 2:18-25
DID YOU KNOW? Ribs CAN grow back! A medical doctor in a horrific head-on accident with a fuel tanker was fascinated to discover that surgeons know and use this knowledge on a daily basis. Even though he was a medical doctor, he had no idea that ribs CAN grow back… until he experienced it for himself. “During the 5½ months in hospital, and for years afterwards, I had a series of operations to reconstruct various parts of me, particularly the bones of my face. These operations often required using my own bone for grafting. I noticed that the plastic surgeon would keep going back to the right side of my ribcage, through the same horizontal scar, actually, to get more bone for these procedures. One day, I asked him why he hadn’t ‘run out of bone’. He looked at me blankly, and then explained that he and his team took the whole rib out each time. ‘We leave the periosteum intact, so the rib usually just grows right back again’… (Make sure you read the rest of this personal story… it’s a fascinating article)
This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. Genesis 5:1-5
O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my down-sitting and my uprising, You understand my thought afar off. You compass my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, You know it altogether. You have beset me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it… I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are Your works; and that my soul knows right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes did see my substance, yet being imperfect; and in Your book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. Psalm 139:1-18
The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life. Job 33:4
For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 1 Timothy 2:13
And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he [Moses] wrote you this precept [divorce]. But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder. Mark 10:5-9
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder. The Pharisees said unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorce, and to put her away? He said unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. Matthew 19:4-8
For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:20

Day 6 – She’s beautiful! (pdf) from creation.com and scientists who take the Bible seriously; Adam was the only human in existence. In the beautiful parkland called the Garden of Eden where he lived, he had all the animals he wanted for pets. But they all had mates, and he did not—he was all alone. God had given Adam the task of naming the animals. Adam finished the task very quickly. But then he realized even more how different he was from every one of them, including the apes. None of them could talk to him. None of them could share the times when he talked with God. None of them was a suitable mate for Adam. God knew that Adam was alone and needed a mate. So God did something very, very special. He put Adam into a deep, deep sleep. Then God took one of Adam’s ribs and used it to make the first woman. When Adam woke up, not only was his side all closed up and healed, but there beside him was another person. And she was beautiful; free printable
Day 6 – The first man, Adam and the animals – fun article for kids – also available as a pdf; from creation.com and scientists who take the Bible seriously. The earth was now ready to be the home for God’s greatest creation, the first human beings—Adam and Eve. But before this, God… said, ‘Let us make man in our image’… a conversation among the three Persons of the Trinity: Our heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit… Why? Possibly to show how special man is, and that he is absolutely different from all the animals, because in him there is something of the nature of God. Man is special. We are like God in many ways, and unlike the animals in many ways; free printable
Seven Cs of Gospel history – article for kids (creation.com) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; On Day 6… Last of all, God made the very first human beings—Adam and Eve. He made Adam from the dust, and then Eve from Adam’s side. God told Adam and Eve to have children so that in time there would be people all over the earth (Genesis 1:28). This means that it was God who invented marriage as the union of one man and one woman. It was God’s purpose that children should be born in this way within families. Adam and Eve are thus your great, great, great … great, great, great … grandparents. They didn’t evolve from apes, so neither did you. God made Adam and Eve “in His image”, so you too are “in the image of God”. This means that you can be filled with God’s Holy Spirit, and you can pray to God directly. You can love and worship God, and you can experience God’s love for you. Animals can’t do any of these things, because God didn’t make them in His image. The Lord Jesus too is descended from Adam and Eve. As well as being the Son of God, Jesus became a human, and lived without sin as the perfect God-man. His death on the cross paid the penalty for our sin, because only someone who was both God and one of us could do this. Everything that God produced during Creation Week was beautiful and perfect… Nothing was bad or evil. There was no death… No mutations, no struggle for existence; free printable
From creation to Christ – God directs human history – article for kids (pdf) or scroll down creation.com; from scientists who take the Bible seriously; God’s plan Act One – a couple; God’s plan Act 2 – a family; God’s plan Act 3 – a nation; God’s plan Act 4 – a Saviour; On day 6 of Creation Week, God created Adam and Eve, the very first man and woman. God gave them a very special blessing. He told them to have lots of children… who would have lots of children… In time there would be enough people to fill the earth and look after it on God’s behalf; free printable
Ribs CAN grow back! A medical doctor in a horrific head-on accident with a fuel tanker was fascinated to discover that surgeons know and use this information on a daily basis. Even though he was a medical doctor, he had no idea that ribs CAN grow back… until he experienced it for himself.
The Amazing Regenerating Rib – article (Answers in Genesis) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; Although all bones can repair themselves, ribs can regenerate themselves. Ribs are commonly removed during surgeries that require bone grafts in other parts of the body. The rib is removed from the periosteum (a tissue surrounding the bone) much like a banana would be removed from its peel while keeping most of the peel intact.
101 scientific facts written in the Bible centuries before they were discovered like these (share a snippet with your child or print off the whole article):
- The Bible states that God created life according to KINDS (Genesis 1:24). This agrees with what scientists observe – namely that there are horizontal genetic boundaries beyond which life cannot vary. Life produces after its own kind. Dogs produce dogs, cats produce cats, monkeys produce monkeys, roses produce roses, and humans produce baby humans. Never have we witnessed one kind changing into another kind.
- Our bodies are made from the dust of the ground (Genesis 2:7; 3:19). Scientists have discovered that the human body is comprised of some 28 base and trace elements – all of which are found in the earth.
- Blood is the source of life and health (Leviticus 17:11; 14). God declared that “the life of the flesh is in the blood” long before science understood its function.
- Reproduction explained (Genesis 1:27-28; 2:24; Mark 10:6-8). While evolution has no mechanism to explain how male and female reproductive organs evolved at the same time, the Bible says that from the beginning God made them male and female in order to propagate the human race and animal kinds.
- Life begins at fertilization (Jeremiah 1:5). God declares that He knew us before we were born… Today, it is an irrefutable biological fact that the fertilized egg is truly an entire human being. Nothing will be added to the first cell except nutrition and oxygen.
- God fashions and knits us together in the womb (Job 10:8-12; 31:15). Science was ignorant concerning embryonic development until recently. Yet many centuries ago, the Bible accurately described God making us an “intricate unity” in the womb.
- Man is “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). We are only beginning to probe the complexity of the DNA molecule, the eye, the brain, and all the intricate components of life. No human invention compares to the marvelous wonders of God’s creation.
- Human conscience understood (Romans 2:14-15). The Bible reveals that God has impressed His moral law onto every human heart. Con means ‘with’ and science means ‘knowledge’. We know it is wrong to murder, lie, steal, etc. Only the Bible explains that each human has a God-given knowledge of right and wrong.
- Animals do not have a conscience (Psalm 32:9). A parrot can be taught to swear, yet never feels conviction. Many animals steal, but they do not experience guilt. Where did our conscience come from? The Bible explains that man alone was created as a moral being in God’s image.
- Love explained (Matthew 22:37-40; 1 John 4:7-12). Evolution cannot explain love. Yet, God’s Word reveals that the very purpose of our existence is to know and love God and our fellow man. God is love, and we were created in His image to reflect His love.
- Chicken or egg dilemma solved (Genesis 1:20-22). Which came first, the chicken or the egg? This question has plagued philosophers for centuries. The Bible states that God created with the ability to reproduce after their kind. Therefore the chicken was created first with the ability to make eggs. Evolution has no solution for this dilemma.
- Which came first, proteins or DNA (Revelation 4:11)? For evolutionists, the chicken or egg dilemma goes even deeper. Chickens consist of proteins. The code for each protein is contained in the DNA/RNA system. However, proteins are required in order to manufacture DNA. So which came first: proteins or DNA? The ONLY explanation is that they were created together.
- The earth was designed for biological life (Isaiah 45:18). Scientists have discovered that the most fundamental characteristics of our earth and cosmos are so finely tuned that if just one of them were even slightly different, life as we know it couldn’t exist. This is called the Anthropic Principle and it agrees with the Bible which states that God formed the earth to be inhabited.
- Law of Biogenesis explained (Genesis 1). Scientists observe that life only comes from existing life. This law has never been violated under observation or experimentation. (Think: Louis Pasteur). Therefore life, God’s life, created all life.
- Creation is made of particles, indiscernible to our eyes (Hebrews 11:3). Not until the 19th century was it discovered that all visible matter consists of invisible elements.

Man – The Image of God (Answers in Genesis) thoughts from scientists who take the Bible seriously; free printable; share a snippet with your child; According to the Bible, the first man was perfect, made in the image of God… C.S. Lewis suggests that before the Fall, the first man, Adam mirrored Christ the man of Galilee even more nearly than Christ would have resembled his own half-brothers. If this is so, it seems almost blasphemy to consider Adam sired by a shambling ape… God endues man with some of his divine attributes, thereby separating and making him different from the beasts. What are these special Godlike qualities which man is permitted to share? I shall mention six: language, creativity, love, holiness, immortality and freedom… an intelligence, a mind…
Quick overview of Biblical history – for kids (Answers in Genesis) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; When God created the first man and woman, He made them different from the animals. He created Adam out of the dust of the ground and Eve out of Adam’s rib. God created man and woman in His image… Now, the animals that we see in museums do not look exactly like the animal kinds that God originally created on Days 5 and 6. Why? Glad you asked! On Day 3, God created the various plant kinds, and on Days 5 and 6 He created the various animal kinds. What is an animal (or plant) “kind”? Most likely, a kind represents a group of animals that can mate with others in that group… For example, lions, tigers, jaguars, and leopards are classified as different species, but are probably all members of an original cat kind… What did these original kinds look like? We don’t know for sure. But the representatives of each kind that survived the Flood had enough information in their DNA to produce the wide variety of animals that we see today. (DNA is the molecule inside the body’s cells that stores the genetic information that determines the growth and development of that organism.)
What was Adam like? Did Adam have a navel? Adam was the first man; Adam had the first operation; Did Adam have less ribs than Eve? Adam was the first husband; Adam was the first farmer; Adam was the first taxonomist; Adam was the first genius; What colour was Adam’s skin? Adam was the first father; Adam was the first sinner; Adam needed ‘the Last Adam’; Why humans wear clothes; how did bad things come about; and more fun facts for kids
Created and Made in the Image of God – article for kids (pdf) from creation.com; How good are you at drawing pictures? Some people are very good at it. No matter how good (or not so good) you are, each time you draw a picture, you are creating something completely new, even if it looks a bit like someone else’s drawing. Your picture has never existed in the world before. It is the same when someone makes up a new song, or tells a story. Even if you tell a story you have heard before, you will tell it a little bit differently from the way anyone told it before. It is a new thing in the universe! You have created it… No one else would create something exactly like your creation, whether it is a story, a song, a picture; more free creation articles for kids here; free printable

Where’s Mrs Adam – colouring (Answers in Genesis) Adam surrounded with animals who have found their mates – dinosaurs, monkeys, reindeer, dodos – but shrugging his shoulders, asking where his soul mate is; here’s a different version; and here’s some teaching notes to go with it – When Adam looked around, he would have seen monkeys as well as various other creatures. However, there was not one creature he saw that was anything like him. Adam certainly did not think that a monkey was anything like a human being. He recognized that he did not have a mate. This also means there were no other humans. We will learn later that all humans go back to only two people; if this were not so, then the whole Gospel message fails since only descendants of Adam and Eve can be saved; free printable

- Why do we believe in marriage?
- Why do we wear clothes?
- Why are there rules—right and wrong?
- Why are we sinners—what does that mean?
- Why is there death and suffering in the world?
- Why is there to be a new heaven and a new earth?

nextmanga.com (for purchase) The story of the universe in manga form. A comic book Bible series that keeps kids/teens (and adults!) riveted. Book 1 (Mutiny) tells the story starting from creation in Genesis 1 and up to time of the Exodus from Egypt (somewhere around Exodus 15). And I love how they have added a few extra frames of background history to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the true villain of history. The top angel (a created being like us) rebels against the Creator; is kicked out of Heaven; becomes God’s arch enemy; and arrives on earth to create mischief, mayhem and havoc with (as he sneers) ‘God’s favoured ones’ – humans. To rob, kill and destroy. Buy and send a few pages at a time. It’s also an excellent gift idea for a sponsor visit. My kids loved these. Monica told us that it was her favourite book. :)
