When we see a building we know there is a builder; when we see a painting, we know there was an artist. So when we see creation, we know there is a Creator. Creation is speaking to those who will listen. On day 6 of creation week, our magnificent God once again… SPOKE… and the world began to be filled with an array of amazing and wonderful land animals, all after their own KIND. Wow! That didn’t take time. Once again that took incredible, a-mazing talent! Because Day 6 is so huge with the creation of all the land animals (including dinosaurs) AND humans, it will be split into several parts. In this post, we will be dealing only with the creation of land animals – and here you will find relevant colouring pages, puzzles, crafts and creative ideas for kids… enjoy!
MORE IN THIS SERIES
Creation Day 6 ~ God makes Land Animals ~ Wow, where do we start? Elephants, bears, giraffes, land dinosaurs, big cats, little cats, chameleons, dogs, horses, sheep, squirrels, deer, rhinos, monkeys, gorillas, tortoises, ants, spiders, snails, bunnies, armadillos, hamsters, cows, koalas, kangaroos, possums, skunks(!)… all in their own KINDS. How many others can you name?
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good… (the sixth day). Genesis 1:24-25
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach you; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell you; or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you; and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto you. Who knows not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. Job 12:7-10
For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:20
…stand still and consider the wondrous works of God. Job 37:14
- God told us in Genesis 1:12 on day 3 of creation week that He created living things, “…whose seed was in itself, after his kind.” …whose seed is in itself! Isn’t God amazingly clever?! This solves the famous ‘chicken and the egg’ dilemma; without the chicken there is no egg! (or giraffe and baby giraffe).
- And here in verse 24, God reminds us again that all creatures are also made after his kind. Is this what we see today? Yes! Pandas have baby pandas. Elephants have baby elephants. Sheep have baby sheep. And tigers have baby tigers. We see plenty of genetic variation within kinds (think: dogs). NOT EVER do we see one kind changing into another kind. Could your cat start flapping its paws and grow wings just by dreaming about it?! Of course not! The fairy tale of evolution is just that… a fairy tale. Humanism in a lab coat and derived by ungodly men to divert glory from our Creator.
- When we see a building we know there is a builder; when we see a painting, we know there was an artist. So when we see creation, we know there is a Creator. Creation is speaking to those who will listen.
CREATION CALLS… ARE YOU LISTENING?
Stunning photos from the BBC put together into a relaxing and very powerful short video panorama showcasing creation… no words, just wonderful music by Brian Doerksen. It is truly magnificent, one of my favourites and it never fails to inspire and encourage me. I had to share it with you! You will want to share this with family and friends. Before you head on down into this post, take a two minute holiday just to brighten your day; put it on full screen, turn the sound up, sit back and … worship God! Enjoy!
CREATION DAY 6 ~ INFORMATION FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE
Day 6 – Adam and the animals – article for kids (creation.com) from scientists that take the Bible seriously; free printable; The bible says that on the sixth day of Creation Week, God made all the animals that live on the land… like cows, sheep and horses. He made small animals like squirrels and spiders, rabbits and mice, frogs and lizards. And beasts like apes and elephants, and lots more. On this day, God also made all the different kinds of dinosaurs. All appeared immediately at God’s command, and all lived peacefully together. What a sight it must have been! How do we know God made the dinosaurs when the Bible does not mention ‘dinosaurs’? The Bible does not mention giraffes, elephants or kangaroos either, yet we know God made these land animals on Day 6. We know God made dinosaurs on Day 6 because dinosaurs are land animals too. Did these animals struggle and evolve over millions of years? No! The Bible tells us that God made each animal ‘after its kind’. This means that God gave each animal the power to make baby animals just like itself. But one kind could not change into a different kind, either then or now. Rabbits have baby rabbits, not baby kangaroos! And the same is true for every other animal. When dinosaurs laid their eggs, baby dinosaurs hatched out, not baby birds!
Creation – Seven Cs of Gospel history – article for kids (creation.com) fun and free printable; On Day 6, God commanded the earth to “bring forth” the land animals. These included all those we now call the tame animals, like your pets and sheep and cows. Also all those we now call the wild animals, like elephants and tigers and kangaroos. None of them were wild then, and none of them ate each other. God also made the creepies and the dinosaurs on this day. The Bible says that God made all the animals “according to their kinds”, and we already know what this means. When dinosaurs laid their eggs, baby dinosaurs hatched out, not baby birds… Everything that God produced during Creation Week was beautiful and perfect for God’s purpose. Nothing was bad or evil. There was no death of animals or people. No mutations, no struggle for existence, nothing ‘unfit’.
- The Bible states that God created life according to kinds (Genesis 1:24). This agrees with what scientists observe – namely that there are horizontal genetic boundaries beyond which life cannot vary. Life produces after its own kind. Dogs produce dogs, cats produce cats, roses produce roses. Never have we witnessed one kind changing into another kind.
- Blood is the source of life and health (Leviticus 17:11-14). God declared that “the life of the flesh is in the blood” long before science understood its function.
- Chicken or egg dilemma solved (Genesis 1:20-22). Which came first, the chicken or the egg? This question has plagued philosophers for centuries. The Bible states that God created birds with the ability to reproduce after their kind. Therefore the chicken was created first with the ability to make eggs. Evolution has no solution for this dilemma.
- Which came first, proteins or DNA (Revelation 4:11)? For evolutionists, the chicken or egg dilemma goes even deeper. Chickens consist of proteins. The code for each protein is contained in the DNA/RNA system. However, proteins are required in order to manufacture DNA. So which came first: proteins or DNA? The ONLY explanation is that they were created together.
- The earth was designed for biological life (Isaiah 45:18). Scientists have discovered that our earth and cosmos are so finely tuned that if just one of them were even slightly different, life as we know it couldn’t exist. This is called the Anthropic Principle and it agrees with the Bible which states that God formed the earth to be inhabited.
- Law of Biogenesis explained (Genesis 1). Scientists observe that life only comes from existing life. This law has never been violated under observation or experimentation. Therefore life, God’s life, created all life.
- Animals do not have a conscience (Psalm 32:9). Where did our conscience come from? The Bible explains that man alone was created as a moral being in God’s image.

When did God create frogs – day 5 or day 6? – cartoon (Answers in Genesis) God created sea creatures on day 5 and He created land creatures on day 6. So when did God create frogs? At midnight?! Just for fun. I haven’t been able to find out a definitive answer to this. What do you think?! :)
Zonkeys, Ligers, and Wolphins, Oh My! (Answers in Genesis) Animals of the same original KIND (or family) can interbreed to create some fun animals. In fact, a good rule of thumb is that if two animals or plants CAN breed together, then they are of the same original created kind. Like dogs. And when dogs breed together, you get dogs; so there is a dog KIND… All of these animals’ ancestors—horses, donkey, zebras, tigers, lions, whales, and dolphins—were created with genetic diversity. Through time the processes of natural selection, mutation, and other mechanisms have altered that original information (always in a downhill direction) to give us even more variation within a kind. Great variety can be observed in the offspring of animals of the same kind, just as the same cake recipe can be used to make different cakes with various flavors and colors. Hybrids have a portion of the same genetic information as their parents but combined in a unique way to give a very unique looking animal. What an amazing diversity of life God has created for us to enjoy!

God of Wonders DVD – Visually stunning and presented by PhD scientists full of awe as they explore our Creator’s handiwork and what it reveals about His character, power, wisdom, majesty and care. The whole documentary is fabulous, but in this short segment (30:57 – 35:20) they discuss DNA. Did you know that the amount of information contained in a pin head volume of DNA would fill a stack of books 500 times higher than here to the moon?!

nextmanga.com (for purchase) The story of the universe in manga form. A comic book Bible series that keeps kids/teens (and adults!) riveted. Book 1 (Mutiny) tells the story starting from creation in Genesis 1 and up to time of the Exodus from Egypt (somewhere around Exodus 15). And I love how they have added a few extra frames of background history to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the true villain of history. The top angel (a created being like us) rebels against the Creator; is kicked out of Heaven; becomes God’s arch enemy; and arrives on earth to create mischief, mayhem and havoc with (as he sneers) ‘God’s favoured ones’ – humans. To rob, kill and destroy. Buy and send a few pages at a time. It’s also an excellent gift idea for a sponsor visit. My kids loved these. Monica told us that it was her favourite book. :)
