God has prepared a wonderful garden paradise filled with food and gifts – fruit, vegetables, grains, flowers, trees, grass, mountains, beaches, lakes, waterfalls, twinkling fairy light stars at night time and an incredible array of amazing creatures for His special guests to care for and enjoy. God gives Adam his first task and it’s a fun one… naming all those wonderful animals. Imagine getting to pat a dinosaur; being caught up in the wonder of seeing butterflies for the very first time; and cuddle the very first koala. :) In this post you will find related Creation Day 6 – colouring pages, puzzles, crafts and creative ideas for kids.

BIBLE VERSES
Genesis 1:26-31 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Genesis 2:7-8,15 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed… And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
Genesis 2:19-20 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them, and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
NOTE: Adam did not have to go and find the animals. God brought them to him to see what he would call them.
Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life.
1 Corinthians 15:45-49 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit… The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven… And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Job 38:1-4 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou Me. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.
Psalm 139:1-18 O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my downsitting and my uprising, You understand my thought afar off. You compass my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue but, lo, O LORD, You know it altogether. You have beset me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it… I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are Your works; and that my soul knows right well… How precious also are Your thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
Psalm 8:3-4 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; what is man, that You are mindful of him? And the son of man that You visit him?
Acts 17:24-27 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, seeing He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; that they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after Him, and find Him, though He be not far from every one of us.
Isaiah 45:12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.
Genesis 5:1-5 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made He him; male and female created He them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth. And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
NOTE: Technically, Adam was a direct creation of God, made in the image of God, i.e. a ‘son of God.’ We are not. We are descendants of Adam. Some scholars even wonder if Adam may even have originally been clothed with light.

THE FAMILY TREE OF JESUS GOES ALL THE WAY BACK TO A REAL, HISTORICAL ADAM
Luke 3:23-38 And Jesus Himself began to be about thirty years of age being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli, which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi, which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Janna, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Mattathias, which was the son of Amos, which was the son of Naum, which was the son of Esli, which was the son of Nagge, which was the son of Maath, which was the son of Mattathias, which was the son of Semei, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Juda, which was the son of Joanna, which was the son of Rhesa, which was the son of Zorobabel, which was the son of Salathiel, which was the son of Neri, which was the son of Melchi, which was the son of Addi, which was the son of Cosam, which was the son of Elmodam, which was the son of Er, which was the son of Jose, which was the son of Eliezer, which was the son of Jorim, which was the son of Matthat, which was the son of Levi, which was the son of Simeon, which was the son of Juda, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Jonan, which was the son of Eliakim, which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of [King] David, which was the son of Jesse, which was the son of Obed, which was the son of Booz [Boaz], which was the son of Salmon, which was the son of Naasson, which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of Juda [Judah], which was the son of Jacob, which was the son of Isaac, which was the son of Abraham, which was the son of Thara, which was the son of Nachor, which was the son of Saruch, which was the son of Ragau, which was the son of Phalec, which was the son of Heber, which was the son of Sala, which was the son of Cainan, which was the son of Arphaxad, which was the son of Sem [Shem], which was the son of Noah, which was the son of Lamech, which was the son of Mathusala, which was the son of Enoch, which was the son of Jared, which was the son of Maleleel, which was the son of Cainan, which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.
NOTE: This genealogy is the complete family tree of Jesus Christ through Mary, whose father appears to have adopted Joseph as his own son. Click the link to find out why. It is written down in the Bible and records Mary’s bloodline all the way back to a REAL historical Adam. Both Joseph and Mary were from the royal family of King David. Joseph’s bloodline back to Abraham is recorded in Matthew 1. Abraham’s bloodline back to a REAL historical Adam is also recorded in 1 Chronicles. Part of it, from Adam to Noah, is also recorded in Genesis 5. Joseph was the legal father of Jesus Christ and a legal heir to the throne of King David. This proves that Jesus Christ was also a legal heir to the throne of King David of Israel. It is THE greatest pedigree in the whole universe. The Angel Gabriel promised Mary that Jesus Christ would one day rule on the throne of King David. At the time of His birth, however, the throne of David was no longer in existence, otherwise He would have been born in a palace instead of a manger. That is why the disciples were in daily expectation that the throne would be restored… then. But God had a bigger plan. One that included you and me. He made redemption available for all people via a suffering Messiah on the cross, paying the penalty for my sin and yours, who was then resurrected. But one day very soon, the Lord Jesus promised to return to complete His mission. I can’t wait! Can you?!

DID YOU KNOW: Different Scriptures show us that every major event in the Bible is ascribed specifically to each member of Elohim (the Trinity). Totally confusing, until you realise that they are the same; equal, yet different, working seamlessly together as One. This chart sets it out simply and clearly.
The creation of the universe was attributed to the:
- Father in Psalm 102:25;
- Son in Colossians 1:16 and John 1:1-3; and
- Holy Spirit in Genesis 1:2 and Job 26:13.
The creation of man was attributed to the:
- Father in Genesis 2:7;
- Son in Colossians 1:16; and
- Holy Spirit in Job 33:4.

CREATION DAY 6 ~ INFORMATION FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE
Creation Day 6 – The first man, Adam, and the Animals (creation.com; also available as a pdf) a fun and free printable article for kids from scientists who take the Bible seriously; The earth was now ready to be the home for God’s greatest creation, the first human beings—Adam and Eve. But before this, God… said, ‘Let us make man in our image’… a conversation among the three Persons of the Trinity: Our Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit… Why? Possibly to show how special man is, and that he is absolutely different from all the animals, because in him there is something of the nature of God. Man is special. We are like God in many ways, and unlike the animals in many ways.
THINK SPOT: How many ways can you think of where we are like God and different to the animals? Animals can do many incredible things, but they do not have an eternal, immortal spirit. They cannot pray, worship God, be filled with God’s Holy Spirit, or know His love. Animals do not have a conscience. Animals do things by the instinct, but we choose. Animals cannot read a book, study at university, then speak or write about it. Animals do not run medical clinics, hospitals, or perform delicate surgeries. Animals do not cultivate or cook delicious foods. Animals do not tell jokes, invent computer games, play musical instruments, paint a scene, make up a poem, take dance classes, sing opera, dream about the future, imagine and create something that does not exist, love sacrificially, do complex mathematic equations, look down microscopes and know what they are looking at, or fly airplanes. What else can you think of? Click the above link to find out.
Creation Week: Day 6 (answersingenesis) from scientists who take the Bible seriously. When we start with the Bible, we know that God created everything in just six days. Each day of creation He formed something unique and amazing that brings glory to Him. Day Six was His final day of creation. What did He make on this day?
Creation – Seven Cs of Gospel history – article for kids (creation.com; scroll down) On Day 6… God made the very first human beings—Adam and Eve. He made Adam from the dust, and then Eve from Adam’s side… They didn’t evolve from apes, so neither did you. God made Adam and Eve “in His image”, so you too are “in the image of God”. This means that you can be filled with God’s Holy Spirit, and you can pray to God directly. You can love and worship God, and you can experience God’s love for you. Animals can’t do any of these things, because God didn’t make them in His image… Everything that God produced during Creation Week was beautiful and perfect… Nothing was bad or evil. There was no death… No mutations, no struggle for existence; information from scientists who take the Bible seriously
What was Adam like? (answersingenesis) Did Adam have black hair, brown skin, and brown eyes? Was he six feet eleven inches tall? These are questions we cannot answer for sure because we were not there to see Adam. However, from reading Genesis, and armed with a basic knowledge of genetics, we can learn a lot about what Adam was probably like.
What was Adam like? (Christiananswers) Did Adam have a navel? Adam was the first man; Adam had the first operation; Did Adam have less ribs than Eve? Adam was the first husband; Adam was the first farmer; Adam was the first taxonomist; Adam was the first genius; What colour was Adam’s skin? Adam was the first father; Adam was the first sinner; Adam needed ‘the Last Adam’; Why humans wear clothes; how did bad things come about; and more fun facts for kids; free printable
Creation Day 6 – Adam’s First Task: Naming the Animals (creation.com; scroll down to ‘Adam’s first task – naming the animals’; here is the pdf) free printable article for kids from scientists who take the Bible seriously; After God created Adam on Day 6 of Creation Week, He had a very special task for Adam to do… name the birds and some of the land animals… Adam didn’t have to search for the animals. The Bible tells us that God ‘brought them to Adam to see what he would call them’… Adam did not have to name millions of animals. Naming each KIND (or family) was enough… about a thousand kinds of animals and birds. If he named one every few seconds, it would have taken just three or four hours. Surely a pleasant morning’s work with lots of time left that day for any other big adventure.
Naming the Animals – all in a day’s work (creation.com) an article from scientists who take the Bible seriously; include a snippet in your letter; the Bible tells us that Adam named the animals before Eve was created. So how could Adam have named all the animals in one day?
How could Adam have named all the animals in a single day? (answersingenesis) Adam did not have to go out and round up or track any of these animals. Genesis 2:19 clearly states that God brought the animals to Adam… Scripture explicitly states that Adam named all the “livestock” (Hebrew behemah), the “birds of the air” (Hebrew oph hashamayim) and all the “beasts of the field” (Hebrew chayyah hassadeh)… the ancestors of animals in the group that taxonomists call a genus (or possibly the higher taxonomic order known as a family) and what the Genesis account calls a “kind”… it is far more likely that Adam had to name only a couple of thousand… easily have been achieved in a few hours… It is important to note that God’s purpose in parading all the animals before Adam was not merely so that he would give them names. It was also to reinforce the fact that he was different in kind from the rest of creation, so that none of these animals could ever serve as a physical, emotional, intellectual or spiritual companion. So God made from Adam’s rib a companion who was suitable (Genesis 2:21-24); from scientists who take the Bible seriously
101 scientific facts written in the Bible centuries before they were discovered (eternal-productions) like these:
- The Bible states that God created life according to KINDS (Genesis 1:24). This agrees with what scientists observe – namely that there are horizontal genetic boundaries beyond which life cannot naturally vary. Life produces after its own kind. Dogs produce dogs, cats produce cats, monkeys produce monkeys, roses produce roses, and humans produce baby humans. Never have we witnessed one kind changing naturally into another kind.
- Our bodies are made from the dust of the ground (Genesis 2:7; 3:19). Scientists have discovered that the human body is comprised of some 28 base and trace elements – all of which are found in the earth.
- Blood is the source of life and health (Leviticus 17:11; 14). God declared that “the life of the flesh is in the blood” long before science understood its function.
- Reproduction explained (Genesis 1:27-28; 2:24; Mark 10:6-8). While evolution has no mechanism to explain how male and female reproductive organs evolved at the same time, the Bible says that from the beginning God made them male and female in order to propagate the human race and animal kinds.
- Life begins at fertilization (Jeremiah 1:5). God declares that He knew us before we were born… Today, it is an irrefutable biological fact that the fertilized egg is truly an entire human being. Nothing will be added to the first cell except nutrition and oxygen.
- God fashions and knits us together in the womb (Job 10:8-12; 31:15). Science was ignorant concerning embryonic development until recently. Yet many centuries ago, the Bible accurately described God making us an “intricate unity” in the womb.
- Man is “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). We are only beginning to probe the complexity of the DNA molecule, the eye, the brain, and all the intricate components of life. No human invention compares to the marvelous wonders of God’s creation.
- Human conscience understood (Romans 2:14-15). The Bible reveals that God has impressed His moral law onto every human heart. ‘Con’ means ‘with’ and ‘science’ means ‘knowledge’. We know it is wrong to murder, lie, steal, etc. Only the Bible explains that each human has a God-given knowledge of right and wrong.
- Animals do not have a conscience (Psalm 32:9). A parrot can be taught to swear, yet never feels conviction. Many animals steal, but they do not experience guilt. Where did our conscience come from? The Bible explains that man alone was created as a moral being in God’s image.
- Love explained (Matthew 22:37-40; 1 John 4:7-12). Evolution cannot explain love. Yet, God’s Word reveals that the very purpose of our existence is to know and love God and our fellow man. God is love, and we were created in His image to reflect His love.
- Chicken or egg dilemma solved (Genesis 1:20-22). Which came first, the chicken or the egg? This question has plagued philosophers for centuries. The Bible states that God created with the ability to reproduce after their kind. Therefore the chicken was created first with the ability to make eggs. Evolution has no solution for this dilemma.
- Which came first, proteins or DNA? (Revelation 4:11) For evolutionists, the chicken or egg dilemma goes even deeper. Chickens consist of proteins. The code for each protein is contained in the DNA/RNA system. However, proteins are required in order to manufacture DNA. So which came first: proteins or DNA? The ONLY explanation is that they were created together.
- The earth was designed for biological life (Isaiah 45:18). Scientists have discovered that the most fundamental characteristics of our earth are so finely tuned that if just one of them were even slightly different, life as we know it couldn’t exist. This is called the Anthropic Principle and it agrees with the Bible which states that God formed the earth to be inhabited.
- Law of Biogenesis explained (Genesis 1). Scientists observe that life only comes from existing life. This law has never been violated under observation or experimentation. Therefore life, God’s life, created all life.

Man – The Image of God (answersingenesis) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; According to the Bible, the first man was perfect, made in the image of God… C.S. Lewis suggests that before the Fall, the first man, Adam mirrored Christ the man of Galilee even more nearly than Christ would have resembled his own half-brothers. If this is so, it seems almost blasphemy to consider Adam sired by a shambling ape… God endues man with some of his divine attributes, thereby separating and making him different from the beasts. What are these special Godlike qualities which man is permitted to share? I shall mention six: language, creativity, love, holiness, immortality and freedom… an intelligence, a mind…
Mankind – The Pinnacle of God’s Creation (icr.org) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; share a snippet with your child; For beauty and sheer simplicity of line, [the human body] is unmatched. As a machine, the human body is the pinnacle of God’s work, formed on the sixth and last day of creation… Chemically, the body is unequaled for complexity. Each one of its 30 trillion cells is a mini-chemical factory which performs about 10,000 chemical functions. And every cell has 1012 (one trillion) bits of data—equal to every letter in ten million books! Each one also replaces itself every seven years. Each one is independent, yet cooperates with many millions of other cells… If its chemical elements were bought on the open market, a medium-sized human body would cost at least six million dollars… parts all work together as a team—its 206 bones provide the framework and its 639 muscles enable it to move with incredible split-second timing. Its skill to balance… acrobatics… strength… Our body is controlled and coordinated by over 16 billion neurons and 120 trillion “connection boxes” packed together into an unfathomably complex set of neuro-passways. The system is much like a modern nation, inter-connected by billions of telephone wires. All of this in a brain and spinal column that weighs slightly over three pounds… nerve impulses flash along at 300 miles per hour. All told, the human brain and nervous system is the most complex arrangement of matter anywhere in the universe.
The Day the Animals were Created and how Adam named them all – poem and teaching notes for kids (Christiananswers) A is for Adam, God made him from dust. He wasn’t a monkey, he looked just like us. Although some scientists don’t think it was so, It was God who was there, and He ought to know. B is for Bible, a book God did give, To tell where we came from and how we should live. We did not evolve, God made it so plain, People are people, we stay just the same…. Also includes a summary of day 6 (so far):
- God created land animals (Genesis 1:24-25).
- God created Adam from dust (Genesis 2:7).
- God put Adam in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:7-8).
- God warned Adam not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, or he would die.
- God brought the cattle, fowl, and beast for Adam to name (Genesis 2:19-20).
- Adam gave names to the animals.
Quick Overview of Biblical History for kids (answersingenesis) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; When God created the first man and woman, He made them different from the animals. He created Adam out of the dust of the ground and Eve out of Adam’s rib. God created man and woman in His image… a kind represents a group of animals that can mate with others in that group… For example, lions, tigers, jaguars, and leopards are classified as different species, but are probably all members of an original cat kind… the representatives of each kind that survived the Flood had enough information in their DNA to produce the wide variety of animals that we see today.

nextmanga.com (for purchase) The story of the universe in manga form. A comic book Bible series that keeps kids/teens (and adults!) riveted. Book 1 (Mutiny) tells the story starting from creation in Genesis 1 and up to time of the Exodus from Egypt (somewhere around Exodus 15). And I love how they have added a few extra frames of background history to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the true villain of history. The top angel (a created being like us) rebels against the Creator; is kicked out of Heaven; becomes God’s arch enemy; and arrives on earth to create mischief, mayhem and havoc with (as he sneers) ‘God’s favoured ones’ – humans. To rob, kill and destroy. Buy and send a few pages at a time. It’s also an excellent gift idea for a sponsor visit. My kids loved these. Monica told us that it was her favourite book. :)
