When they form, they block the sun when the temperature on earth becomes too hot, and they let the sunlight in when it becomes too cold. When the Earth is hot, more water evaporates from the oceans and turns into clouds. These clouds reflect more energy and the Earth cools. When the Earth is cold, the clouds cool and condense into rain and snow. With fewer clouds, less energy is reflected. The energy reaches the earth and warms it. The Earth has the most diverse collection of reflective surfaces in our solar system. Water is the most abundant chemical compound on earth. Water covers three fourths of the earth’s surface.

Oceans contain springs (Job 38:16). The ocean is very deep. Almost all the ocean floor is in total darkness and the pressure there is enormous. It would have been impossible for Job to have explored the “springs of the sea.” Until recently, it was thought that oceans were fed only by rivers and rain. Yet in the 1970s, with the help of deep diving research submarines that were constructed to withstand 6,000 pounds-per-square-inch pressure, oceanographers discovered springs on the ocean floors.
3000 years ago the Bible described ocean currents, the “paths of the seas” (Psalm 8:8). In the 19th century Matthew Maury – the father of oceanography – after reading Psalm 8, researched and discovered ocean currents that follow specific paths through the seas. Utilizing Maury’s data, marine navigators have since reduced ocean travel by many days.

Meteorologists now understand that the hydrological cycle consists of evaporation, atmospheric transportation, distillation, and precipitation.
The earth free-floats in space (Job 26:7). Other sources declared the earth sat on the back of an elephant or turtle, or was held up by Atlas. The Bible alone states what we now know to be true – “He hangs the earth on nothing.”

I wasn’t able to find too many puzzles around specifically for the early days of creation, although there are lots available for a creation review that include those days… so this is a great opportunity to see how easy it is to make your own. Book 1 (Mutiny) tells the story starting from creation in Genesis 1 and up to time of the Exodus from Egypt (somewhere around Exodus 15). And I love how they have added a few extra frames of background history to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the true villain of history. The top angel (a created being like us) rebels against the Creator; is kicked out of Heaven; becomes God’s arch enemy; and arrives on earth to create mischief, mayhem and havoc with (as he sneers) ‘God’s favoured ones’ – humans. To rob, kill and destroy. Buy and send a few pages at a time. It’s also an excellent gift idea for a sponsor visit. My children loved these. Monica told us that it was her favourite book. :)
