An author recalls one of his professors, “…a quantum physicist, describing what the first few microseconds of the creation of the universe would have looked like. He described in great detail the how contraction and expansion ratio had to be so precise and the margin of error so small. And he added that the exactness demanded of that moment was such that it would be the equivalent of taking aim at a one square inch object ~ twenty billion light years away ~ and hitting it bull’s eye!” Wow! Who wouldn’t want to worship a God like that? I need a BIG God. How about you? Looking for letter writing ideas for your sponsored child that are fun and free printable? SO HOW BIG IS OUR UNIVERSE ANYWAY ~ ARTICLE FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE (A4)
This FREE article was inspired by something I spotted over at the soho site (nasa/esa) that claims to be to scale. It shows how big we are compared to our sun. Not very! But did you know that there are other massive stars out there that make OUR SUN look as tiny as Pluto! Woah! Can barely even see it. So, our problems, compared to our magnificent God who made all this – AND calls each star by name – are a piece of cake! Encourage your child with this article designed just for them. He knows their name, too.

ARTICLE TEXT
SO HOW BIG IS OUR UNIVERSE ANYWAY?
Do you like exploring? Close your eyes and think about how BIG our Earth is—how many different countries there are. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? What would you like to see? Now zoom out as we go a little further. If you could jump on a rocket ship, and blast off from Earth to go exploring anywhere in the universe, where would you go? Before you do that, have a think about this. Here’s what we look like compared to some of our neighbours in the universe. Check out how big Jupiter and Saturn are compared to us. Hmmm…. I’m starting to feel a little small. How about you? Now look how small we all are compared to the sun. Even Saturn and Jupiter are looking small now. Stop for a moment and think about how enormous our sun is compared to us.
But did you know that there are much bigger supergiant and hypergiant stars out there, with names like UY Scuti, Westerlund 1-26, and VY Canis Majoris, that make our sun look as small as Pluto! Woah! Imagine how tiny we are. Gulp! Astronomers using NASA’s powerful space telescopes tell us these stars are much brighter than our sun (woah, where’s the sunglasses?) and several thousand light-years away. That means if we could travel in a very fast rocket ship at the speed of light (300,000 km or 186,000 miles per second) for several thousand years, we would eventually get there. And the Bible tells us that the Lord Jesus Christ—the Creator God who made all that—wants a relationship with me and YOU! Wow!!! How cool is that!!!!
When I look at the sky which you have made, at the moon and the stars which you set in their places – what is man, that you think of him? Mere man that you care for him? (Psalm 8:3-4)
WHO IS JESUS?
Jesus Christ is God Himself! He is the visible likeness of the invisible God… Through Him and for Him God created everything in heaven and on earth, the seen and the unseen… God made peace through his son’s death on the cross and so brought back to Himself all things… (Colossians 1).
LOVE BEYOND REASON
For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that anyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life. John 3:16. That’s me and YOU!
God loved YOU and chose YOU for His own. Colossians 3:12
