Hi there, I’m so glad you’re here. This blog was started – for you – in March 2013, so I could share with you:
- Some of the paper gift items that I have designed for my sponsored children;
- Fabulous free printables or ideas I find online for them;
- Snippets of faith to bless and encourage you and all who come here, strengthen your faith in our Lord Jesus or introduce you to Him;
- To tell you about some of the great organisations out there that introduce people to Jesus, our magnificent Creator who changes the hearts and lives of all those who really come to know and love Him.
- To brighten your day… enjoy!
My journey with sponsoring started in 2004 with Kefa and Estefany, who literally came out of a suitcase and into our hearts. My family is now privileged and blessed to love and care for these precious children. Aren’t my kids adorable?! :)
Meet Diribe, just one of my beautiful sponsored children. When we first sponsored her, she had been abandoned by her mother and father, and was being raised by her grandmother who was struggling to provide for them both and she could not afford to go to school. Look at the difference that sponsorship and knowing the Lord Jesus has made in her life.
Sponsoring a child is a great way to teach our kids social responsibility and to realise how blessed they are; and also to teach them that we have a responsibility before God to account for the resources that He has given us. Choose a child the same age as your own children / grandchildren / students. Then get them involved. Draw. Paint. Write. Kids LOVE writing to kids! Pray for them. Take them into your heart and into your family. Writing regularly to your sponsored child is very important, because love = letters! Let them know that they are now an important part of your family and that you care about them. Your letters to them are an occasion for great celebration and are often read by their whole family! Check out my post for ideas for that special first letter, ‘we welcome your family into our family’.
These paper gift items are also suitable resources for homeschool, Sunday School, other Christian ministries; in fact, for any child in need of paper gifts of love. If that’s you, welcome and come on in! I am delighted to see you. I appreciate each and every visitor and thank you for dropping by. While you’re here, I’ll make you a cuppa while you snuggle in, relax and put your feet up or have a look around. Cake? Stop to chat and let me know how your day has been or how you will be using my designs. Like all bloggers, I LOVE feedback. It blesses, inspires and encourages me.
Do I get paid to do this? No. Would I like to? I wish. So all items must be for personal use only. Nothing is to be used commercially, without prior consent from the owner of this blog.
I am passionate about the Lord Jesus Christ; the authority of Scripture; God’s magnificent creation (admiring His designs are like walking through a living art gallery, don’t you think?); and telling others about Him. My love of designing is a gift from Him. He sits beside me all the way as I whisper a quiet prayer for inspiration.
If you do not already know Him, please ask Him to show you THE truth. Your eternal destiny is resting on whether or not you know Him and have accepted His way of forgiveness for your rebellion against Him. A holy God. Just talk to Him like you would your best friend. He loves you and know you intimately… but, as I once told some teens who asked me how they should pray, with a whole lot more respect because there could be a lightning bolt with your name on it! :) You could start out by saying something to Him like: God, if you are really there, can you please show me the truth; show me how I can have a relationship with You.
Because, regardless of what many people may try to tell you, the truth does exist and you will find it only in Him – the Lord Jesus Christ. The One True God who created you; loved you enough to become human and die for your sins and rebellion against Him. Realise that you are a sinner. We all are. There is a huge gulf between God and all of us. There is NO way we can cross it. DIY religion will never cut it. We might think that we are better than the guy standing next to us or that bad dudie guy over there (and we’re usually not), but no matter how hard we try, we can never be good enough. He judges us according to HIS standards, not ours. And His pass mark is 100%. If you ever told a lie when you were 8 years old; or stolen a pen from your boss just once; or loved anyone or anything more than God, you’ve blown it. We all have. But God’s grace, mercy and love bridges the gap. The Lord Jesus Christ (who is God in human form) came to Earth a couple of thousand years ago, lived a perfect life, got the 100% for us and paid the penalty for all of our sins by His death on the cross, so that God can forgive us our sins and give us eternal life. It’s not what you know, but WHO you know. He is the judge stepping down from the bench to pay the penalty of death for the condemned and guilty prisoner.
We can’t buy it.
We can never earn it.
It’s a free gift!
‘Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all’.
Have a wonderful day and remember, YOU are His beloved. You are invited. He has chosen YOU, so that you can have a personal relationship with Him. Forever… starting right now. All you have to do is ask.
For His glory and His honour.
Lord it was You,
You created the heavens.
And Lord, it was Your hands
That put the stars in their place.
Lord, it was Your voice
That commands the morning.
‘Cause even oceans and their waves
bow at your feet, O Lord.
Lord, who am I
Compared to Your glory?
Lord, who am I
Compared to Your majesty?
‘Cause I’m your beloved,
And You love me as I am.
You’ve called me, chosen
For Your kingdom.
Unashamed to call me your own
I’m your beloved.
