Just a word of caution before we start. Please be careful if you choose ‘cute’ – we all love those tiny arks with the giraffes sticking out of the top, but it leaves a fairy tale image that is NOT Biblical. Think ocean liner. Work out the true measurements for yourself from Scripture; turn it into an activity to do with your child, and make sure to tell your child about the REAL Noah.

The Reason for the Flood (Dr Chuck Missler) Have you ever thought God was unjust or cruel to send the terrible disaster of Noah’s Flood? This article discusses that big question… why. You may not know that God actually had a ‘gene pool’ problem that threatened to corrupt not only humanity, but more importantly, the Messiah line, which would have prevented the Messiah ever being born, and therefore forever condemn mankind in our sin. This diabolical plan was intended to stop God’s plan of redemption for mankind in its tracks. In short, human DNA was being contaminated by evil fallen angels. Noah was a ‘pure blood’. After reading this article, a lot of strange passages in the Bible will suddenly start to make sense; share it with your child.

Genesis 6:1-6 tells us that ‘there were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. [Think Greek mythology.] And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great…’ Sons of God is a term that is only used for direct creations of God. The angels. Adam. We are not. We are sons of Adam. Human DNA was being contaminated by evil fallen angels. They were producing fallen angel + human hybrids = Nephilim. They had to be destroyed. However, after the flood, these enemies of humanity were somehow once again able to begin to contaminate the human race with nephilim. The Bible tells | us about some of these ‘and also after that’ giants, perhaps the most famous being Goliath. Here is a photo of a giant leg bone and a size chart of some real-life giant skeletons that have been found in history, to give you some perspective. Much of this information has since been suppressed, although reports of | giant | remains were common up until the early 1900s. Fallen Angels | Giants (Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, Book 1, Chapter 1) an intriguing footnote (11), written centuries later, not long after the time of Christ, records the oral history and Jewish traditions. While we can accept only what is written in Scripture as ‘set in stone’ and that must always be where we begin, other sources may be interesting so long as we hold them with an open hand, knowing they come from man – and may, or may not, be true. Anyway, the simple footnote states, “This notion, that the fallen angels were, in some sense, the fathers of the old giants, was the constant opinion of antiquity.”

The Days of Noah (Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, Book 1, Chapter 3.1) deals further with Noah and the flood: “But for what degree of zeal they had formerly shown for virtue, they now showed by their actions a double degree of wickedness, whereby they made God to be their enemy. For many angels of God accompanied with women, and begat sons that proved unjust, and despisers of all that was good, on account of the confidence they had in their own strength; for the tradition is, that these men did what resembled the acts of those whom the Grecians call giants.” [Think Greek mythology.]

God spoke to Noah, and Noah listened… I think people are way too casual with God sometimes. This is almighty God we’re talking about. Fearing God means that we have reverence for Him. It is not so much a fear of retribution; it is a dread of displeasing Him or dishonoring Him. Noah moved with this reverence and fear. He lived a godly life in an ungodly place, shining as a bright light in the darkest circumstances imaginable… God does not love us for what we have done or haven’t done. Nor does God love us for what we are or are not. God loves us and extends His grace to us because He chooses to – just because He loves us. He extended His grace to Noah, and Noah responded appropriately to that grace by obeying God and honoring Him. Noah walked with God when no one else did.

People often think there were only two of each animal on the Ark because God told Noah that “two of every kind” of land animal would come to him (Genesis 6:20). Food and water systems could have been used to contain several days’ worth of nourishment, allowing creatures to eat and drink whenever they wanted… Slotted floors in the cages combined with a series of angled trays placed beneath them could move the waste of many animals to a collection tray at the bottom of the stack that could be quickly cleaned.

Marine fossils have been found everywhere (icr.org) on the earth, even at the top of Mount Everest and in the middle of vast deserts, evidence they were once covered by ocean water. The earth before and after the flood was very different, as it experienced huge upheaval. The fact that God once flooded the earth would be denied (2 Peter 3:5-6). There is a mass of fossil evidence to prove this fact, yet it is flatly ignored by most of the scientific world because it was God’s judgment on man’s wickedness.
Vast fossil deposits anticipated (Genesis 7). Geologists now know that fossils only form if there is rapid deposition of life buried away from scavengers and bacteria. This agrees exactly with what the Bible says occurred during the global Flood.
The continents were created as one large land mass (Genesis 1:9-10). Many geologists agree there is strong evidence that the earth was originally one super continent – just as the Bible said way back in Genesis.
Continental drift inferred (Genesis 7:11). Today the study of the ocean floor indicates that the landmasses have been ripped apart. Meteorologists now understand that a rainbow is formed when the sun shines through water droplets – which act as a prism – separating white light into its color spectrum.
Light can be divided (Job 38:24). It was discovered that white light is made of seven colors, which can be “parted” and then recombined. Science confirmed this four centuries ago – God declared this four millennia ago!

Partly built by Amish timber framers using incredible workmanship, it’s the largest timber frame structure in the world (pdf) with some wooden beams more than 3 feet in diameter and nearly 50 feet long. Inside the Ark, meet the ship’s handcrafted animals. You’ll recognize some of the animals, but prepare to meet some odd-looking creatures you’ve probably never even heard of, as many of the animals that lived during Noah’s lifetime may not have looked much like the animals we see around today as they were the original KINDS that God created. Check out this cool drone footage (below) of the ark as it was under construction and share it with your child. Noah’s Ark (noahsark.com.hk) This full size Noah’s Ark replica is a massive tourist resort complex in Hong Kong – 5 storeys high – complete with animals – and has been built to the (almost) exact dimensions of the original ark. They actually ran out of room, so are a bit short by about six feet. Click on ‘park attractions’ – then ‘park map’ to get some idea of the size. Dr Carl Wieland from creation.com was curious enough to fly there and spend a whole day in this massive tourist complex, but was still not able to see everything, and notes, “Where the original Ark had three decks, its Hong Kong counterpart [of the same size] has five levels. The ground floor has an ocean-front restaurant and banquet hall, and the top floor is “Noah’s hotel” with sea views.” Here are some photos of the actual ark complex sitting near the freeway to the Hong Kong airport, and in one of them you may be able to clearly see a bus passing overhead, which looks tiny in comparison. Ark van Noach (arkvannoach) Johan Huibers, a modern day carpenter who loves God, is another person who was inspired to build a Noah’s Ark replica. It holds more than 5000 people. See the video at the top of this post; and this interview with the man behind this incredible project – and yes, it floats. Model of Noah’s Ark built to Scale (creation.com) Many people have difficulty understanding how big Noah’s Ark was. Rod Walsh… built a 1/72^nd scale model—that is, the real Ark was 72 times bigger than Rod’s model. Rod’s model is two metres long. The actual Ark was over 140 metres long. You could fit over 350,000 of Rod’s models in the real Ark… People were amazed at the relative size of the Ark—Rod had measured the wharf building where the display was housed and was able to tell people how big the Ark was compared to the building.

Fairy Tale Arks might be cute, BUT…

Why Fairy Tale Arks are so dangerous (arkencounter) Answers in Genesis is dedicating an entire exhibit at the Ark Encounter to warn people how they could be unknowingly teaching their kids to disbelieve the Bible from a young age… Let’s remember that the Biblical account of the Ark and the Flood is not a fun story about an old man and lots of cute animals. It’s about God judging an exceedingly wicked world while sparing a righteous man, his family, and representatives of the land animals from destruction. A sign inside the Ark Encounter complex with a snake twisted around it reads, ‘If I can convince you that the flood was not real, then I can convince you that Heaven and Hell are not real.’ You’ll learn about the 7D’s of Deception (a twist on the Creation 7C’s of History)—Deceptively Cute, Disregarding God’s Word, Disorienting the Reader, Distorting the Message, Discrediting the Truth, Destructive for All Ages, Defaming God’s character. Many of the fairy tale arks are extremely cute and were surely drawn with great intentions. However cute things are not necessarily innocent or harmless, and good intentions can lead to disastrous consequences.

Cartoon Arks (creation.com) How such ‘delightful depictions’ downplay the Deluge—and Christianity. The Bible in Genesis Chapter 6 very clearly sets out the dimensions, purpose and shape of Noah’s Ark… A ridiculously-shaped small houseboat with giraffes’ heads poking out of windows, and elephants’ trunks hanging down the side leaves the impression of a rather pathetic-looking, definitely non-ocean-going boat that drastically downplays the Flood as a real event in Biblical history. And it detracts from the real history of God’s judgment on the evil of mankind; kids seem to be meant to enjoy the picture mostly because of the cute animals, rather than learning about God’s grace towards those He saved.

Bathtub Arks need to go (answersingenesis) “bathtub arks” look cute, but I do want to challenge everyone by stating I believe they can be dangerous… people all over the world have many of the same basic questions about the book of Genesis. But one that has come up over and over again is, “How could Noah fit all the animals on the ark?” Also, time and time again, I’ve seen atheists mock the Bible’s account of the ark and flood because they claim Noah couldn’t fit the animals on board. This issue has been a stumbling block for many… That is one of the reasons AiG built a life-size Ark: to help everyone understand the enormous size of Noah’s ark… One day, I was on one of the buses that transports people the one mile from the parking lot to the life-size Ark at our Ark Encounter attraction in Kentucky. As the bus rounded the corner and people suddenly saw the Ark, a little boy yelled out, “Wow! It’s so big. Noah could fit the animals on that Ark.”

Where did all the water go? (answersingenesis) The short answer is that our planet is called the “Blue Planet” for a reason (it’s covered in 70% water) – so the water from the Global Flood is still here, making up our oceans.

How did the Water drain off the continents? (creation.com) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; This question has a simple answer, and once we understand what happened and how, we can see the reality of the Biblical Flood all around the world. The floodwater is in the oceans! The Pacific Ocean alone takes up almost half the earth’s surface.

Where did all the Water go? (creation.com) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; If the earth’s surface were even, then there is enough water in the oceans to cover the earth to a depth of about 3 km. This suggests that, during the Flood, the ocean floor moved vertically, relative to the continents, something mentioned in the Bible (Psalm 104:8)… The ocean basins would have only had to rise enough for the water to cover everything. Then, in the second half of the Flood, other parts of the earth’s crust sank. The water flowed off our continents into new ocean basins. Movement of the earth’s crust at this time also pushed up new mountain ranges, including the one that is home to Mt Everest. So where did all the water go? It is in the ocean.

Fifteen | cubits is a lot of water. Have you ever wondered… where did all that water go??? Did you know that official figures claim that water covers 75% of our world? (See the footnote at the end of this post). This poster was originally designed with an image that shows the conventional view of the earth as we have been taught that it looks like (i.e. a spinning ball), but it is not showing the world map that we normally see. This image claims to show the ‘other’ side of our spinning ball, the Pacific Ocean view. At first, it appeared that this must have been where ‘all the water went.’ And that seemed to be pretty neat. However, since publishing it and after months of research, I have been confronted with overwhelming, shocking evidence of an alternative view of our realm that appears to hold substantial evidence worth looking at, and one that fits more accurately into a Biblical worldview. And accidentally, although it was not intentional but artistic, this poster actually shows how ridiculous the conventional view really is, if you stop to think about it. If you are a truthseeker, I encourage you to question everything, do your own research, and come to your own conclusions, asking the Lord to show you the truth. Then share your research with your child and discuss it with them, encouraging them to do the same.

The rainbow is a sign of God’s promise, that he will guide us through any storm. Do you know what each color in the rainbow means? Red represents the blood Jesus shed for us. Yellow is for God’s perfect light, the sun so bright. Orange is coming from night into life with thru Jesus. Green reminds us that God created the earth and trees. Like the grass in spring, it represents the new life we have in Jesus. Blue represents the color of water. God created the oceans & seas, this reminds us of the baptism that identifies us with Jesus. Black represents our sins and God’s darkest day. Purple is for Jesus’ hours of sorrow, so we can gain the crown of life. Pink is for our new tomorrows. White represents God’s purity and the cleansing of our sins through God’s grace.

Noah’s Ark – activity | snack (kirstymcallister) hands-on activity using a chocolate wafer finger for the Ark, sitting in a bowl or tray of stormy blue jelly. The wafer finger is almost the same proportions as the Ark, and, as an added bonus, when you bite into it, it has three floors.

Flood in a Jar – science activity for kids (delightfullearning; scroll down to ‘and made a flood in a jar’) a fun idea for children to create their own ‘storm’ in a jar, filling it with dirt, leaves, twigs, using a sprayer for the rain, then shake the jar to simulate the shifting plates, earthquakes and fountains of the deep opening up. This science activity could be adapted for any age group, done on a bigger scale, adding bones to make your own fossils, dinosaur dig, archaeological dig, looking at geology layers that form, etc.

Has God kept that promise? Yes, He has! The whole earth has never again been covered in water, nor will it ever be. But local floods still happen. This is just like how God makes a rainbow appear in the sky where the light is both refracted and reflected in the raindrops.

NOAH’S ARK ~ LEARN TO DRAW FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE

How would your child draw Noah’s Ark? (creation.com) I was asked to take a children’s teaching session… The very first task was for the kids to draw Noah’s Ark; they were given no other instruction or prompting. All of the children, to my knowledge, were from a church background. I was presented with a wide range of shapes and sizes of the Ark when they had finished their drawings. The majority had drawn small bathtub-style arks. I asked them where they had got the idea for their image. The responses were mostly: from a book, a toy, the internet, TV, and Sunday School. A bathtub ark conveys a fairy tale, not a real, historical event. Then I asked the children who had drawn an ark that more closely compared to proportions of the biblical Ark where their idea had come from. All resolutely answered: the Bible! Try this ‘Drawing Noah’s Ark’ exercise with your own kids, Sunday School, or youth group; see what result you get, and then use it as a fun teaching session! Or turn it into a hands-on activity and find something near you (e.g. a public building, a sports ground) and take the children out to measure it, so they can see with their own eyes just how big Noah’s Ark really was.

The top angel, a created being like us, rebels against the Creator; is kicked out of Heaven; becomes God’s arch enemy; and arrives on earth to create mischief, mayhem and havoc with… (as he sneers)… ‘God’s favoured ones’ – humans. To rob, kill and destroy. Buy and send a few pages at a time. It’s also an excellent gift idea for a sponsor visit. My sponsored children loved these. Monica told us that it was her favourite book!
