Just a word of caution before we start. Please be careful if you choose ‘cute’ – we all love those tiny arks with the giraffes sticking out of the top, but it leaves a fairy tale image that is NOT Biblical. Think ocean liner! Work out the true measurements for yourself from Scripture, and make sure you tell your child about the REAL Noah.

BIBLE VERSES

Genesis 5:28 – Genesis 9  tells the complete story of the REAL Noah. Don’t rely on Hollywood myths. Read the true story for yourself direct from the source.

Genesis 7:11-20  …in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights… And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

Genesis 9:8-17  I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Psalm 104:5-9  Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. You covered it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which You had founded for them. You have set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

Isaiah 54:9-10  For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

Matthew 24:37-38  But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.  [These words of Jesus Christ, the Creator, refer to Noah’s Flood as a REAL historical event.]

Luke 3:36  Family tree of Jesus Christ. [Noah is a REAL person listed in the genealogy of Jesus Christ, that goes all the way back to Adam and Eve. They are all listed in YOUR genealogy also, if you could take it back that far. Mine too. Every person alive on Earth today is descended from Noah and one of his sons.]

Luke 17:26-27  And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. [The words of Jesus Christ, teaching about a real flood.]

Hebrews 11:7  By faith, Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

1 Peter 3:20  …when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

2 Peter 2:5  And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.

2 Peter 3:5-6  For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Amos 5:8  Seek Him that makes the seven stars and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is His name.

Amos 9:6  …He that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is His name.

NOAH’S ARK ~ INFORMATION ~ FREE PRINTABLE

  • God had a problem

The Reason for the Flood  (Dr Chuck Missler) Have you ever thought God was unjust or cruel to send the terrible disaster of Noah’s Flood? This article discusses that big question… why. You may not know that God actually had a gene pool problem that threatened to corrupt not only humanity, but more importantly, the Messiah line, which would prevent the Messiah ever being born, and therefore forever condemn mankind in our sin. This diabolical plan was intended to stop God’s plan of redemption for mankind in its tracks. [Human DNA was being contaminated by fallen angels. Noah was a ‘pure blood’. After reading this article, a lot of strange passages in the Bible will suddenly start to make sense; share it with your child.]

Genesis 6:1-6  There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great… [Human DNA was being contaminated by fallen angels. They were producing fallen angel + human hybrids = Nephilim. Scripture | tells us about some of these giants, perhaps the most famous being Goliath. Here is a giant leg bone and a giant size chart of real-life giant skeletons that have been found in history to give you some perspective. And if you scroll down this page to ‘Giant of Japan military parade’, you can see old black and white video footage of a real-life 13′ (4 m) giant. He is also featured in this compilation. And this one may even be bigger!

The Terrible Flood of Noah  (khouse) The purpose of the Flood was to judge and destroy a decadent, thoroughly evil human civilization that probably numbered some billions of individuals, along with their cities and all the infrastructures. Noah escaped, not because he was blameless (he was justified by his faith as we are), but because he (and his family) responded to God’s mercy and grace; an article by a scientist who takes the Bible seriously

Noah’s Ark – story for kids  (answersingenesis) Noah’s Ark is one of the few stories most people recognize. The beloved child’s tale of an overstuffed bathtub toy filled with all sorts of lovable creatures has been a favorite of many. But how does this story compare with the historical account recorded for us in the Bible?

Noah’s Ark – story for kids  (Christiananswers) As the years passed, people began to fill the earth. But when God saw that man’s wickedness covered the earth, and that every imagination of his heart was only evil continually, it grieved the Lord. And the Lord said, “I will destroy mankind, which I created, from the face of the earth… Because people have filled the earth with violence, I will destroy them along with the earth…”

Noah tried to rescue more people  (answersingenesis) The Bible tells us that the world was filled with wickedness and that every thought of all the people was evil all the time (Genesis 6:5). But Noah was different from everyone else. He walked with the Lord and found grace in God’s eyes (Genesis 6:8–9). In the New Testament, Noah is described as “a preacher of righteousness” (2 Peter 2:5) who obeyed God because he had faith and godly fear (Hebrews 11:7). Surrounded by people who didn’t love God or obey Him, the obedient, faithful Noah… was still faithful to obey God.

Noah, the man who trusted God – story  (answersingenesis) Every day he was appalled. Every day things became worse. Yesterday it was old Zack down the road, beaten up and killed for a few lousy flakes of gold. Last month, a whole village had been destroyed by a gang of thugs. If things carried on this way, no wonder God would have to act… It was just incredible how quickly people had removed God from their thinking… And now the day had arrived, and the roads were packed with people who had come to have a real laugh at old Noah… the crowd chimed in, amidst swelling, mocking laughter. And then slowly a hush fell over the crowd as first one person—and then another—saw it. The end of the massive door that was resting on the ground began to lift by itself, swinging up slowly and silently until it thudded shut into its opening…

The Works of Josephus  (Antiquities of the Jews – Book 1, Chapter 1) an intriguing footnote (11), written centuries later, not long after the time of Christ, records the oral history and Jewish traditions. While we can accept only what is written in Scripture as ‘set in stone’ and that must always be where we begin, other sources may be interesting so long as we hold them with an open hand, knowing they come from man – and may or may not be true. Anyway, the footnote states, “This notion, that the fallen angels were, in some sense, the fathers of the old giants, was the constant opinion of antiquity.” Chapter 3.1 deals further with Noah and the flood: “But for what degree of zeal they had formerly shown for virtue, they now showed by their actions a double degree of wickedness, whereby they made God to be their enemy. For many angels of God accompanied with women, and begat sons that proved unjust, and despisers of all that was good, on account of the confidence they had in their own strength; for the tradition is, that these men did what resembled the acts of those whom the Grecians call giants.”

Noah – World Changer and Rebel  (link removed) World changers don’t march in lockstep with current culture. World changers think for themselves. They do what is right. God spoke to Noah, and Noah listened… I think people are way too casual with God sometimes. This is almighty God we’re talking about. Fearing God means that we have reverence for him. It is not so much a fear of retribution; it is a dread of displeasing him or dishonoring him. Noah moved with this reverence and fear. He lived a godly life in an ungodly place, shining as a bright light in the darkest circumstances imaginable… God does not love us for what we have done or haven’t done. Nor does God love us for what we are or are not. God loves us and extends his grace to us because he chooses to – just because He loves us. He extended His grace to Noah, and Noah responded appropriately to that grace by obeying God and honoring him. Noah walked with God when no one else did.

  • Fossils – billions of dead things buried in rock layers, laid down by water, all over the earth

Water on the Earth  (icr.org; scientists who take the Bible seriously) If there was a worldwide flood as the Bible tells us, what evidence would we expect to see around us today? How about billions of dead things buried in rock layers, laid down by water, all over the earth. What do we see? Billions of dead things buried in rock layers, laid down by water, all over the earth… and did you know that 70% of the earth is covered by water. Yes… 70% (in fact, NASA figures are even higher at 75% – see the footnote at the end of this post). Seriously, have you ever wondered where ALL that water came from? Scientists have no idea. But the history book of the universe, the Bible, tells us exactly where all that water came from.

Marine fossils have been found everywhere on Earth  (icr.org) even at the top of Mount Everest and in the middle of vast deserts, evidence they were once covered by ocean water. The Earth before and after the flood was very different, as it experienced huge upheaval. If the earth’s surface was flattened out, with no high mountains or deep ocean basins, the ocean would cover the earth to a depth of about 8,000 feet; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.

The Second Greatest Catastrophe of all time  (creation.com; scroll down) this article includes a photo of an incredible fossil of an ichthyosaur, buried and fossilised while giving birth – clear evidence that it was buried quickly by water-borne sediments. The fossil record is consistent with creatures having been buried suddenly, otherwise most creatures would either rot or be devoured by scavengers.

You can see the effects of Noah’s Flood today – fun facts for kids  (answersingenesis) When you travel on the highway, look at any rocky hillsides that were cut away for the road. You’ll see lots of layers. When you see these layers, remember the Flood of Noah’s day. The Flood would have stirred up many different types of mud and rocks. Eventually, the floodwaters deposited them in layers. Over time, these hardened into the many layers of rock that we see today. This didn’t happen over millions of years—instead, it happened mostly during the Flood, just a few thousand years ago. Most fossils formed during Noah’s
Flood, as sand and mud came and covered the animals and plants, killing them
quickly and turning them into fossils.

A Fossil Clock? How fast do Rocks form?  (answersingenesis) Take a look at this picture of the mechanism of a clock encased in solid rock, along with sea shells. Because of the intense evolutionary indoctrination we’ve all received, most people assume that it takes millions of years for sediment—like sand or mud—to harden into rock. But given the right ingredients and conditions, like Noah’s Flood, this can actually happen quickly. It’s just like mixing cement.

Do Fossils form in the Mariana Trench?  (answersingenesis) My 5 yr old son, Merrick, loves the deep sea. He asked me if there are fossils on the ocean floor in the Mariana Trench…

Did the Flood cover Mt Everest?  (creation.com) Earth’s highest mountains have fossils of sea creatures at their tops, showing they were once under the sea… mountains such as the Himalayas were probably built by catastrophic movement of the earth’s continental plates during and after the Flood… Measurements indicate that the Himalayas are still rising. The rate of rise now measured is just the remnant of the processes that occurred much faster in the past. Mountain building occurred as a part of the geologic processes that deepened the oceans to take the waters off the land towards the end of the Flood… [and did you know there is] enough water on all the earth to cover mountains about 3 km (2 miles) high, if all the ocean basins were raised; from scientists who take the Bible seriously

Fossil Dinosaur retains shape  (creation.com) There is great excitement over a wonderfully preserved fossil of an armoured, plant-eating dinosaur called a nodosaur… After the outer material was removed, what remained was the fossilized body of the nodosaur—from snout to hips—basically in its original 3-D shape… No evidence of scavenging indicates rapid burial, consistent with the biblical Flood model

Evidence of the Flood  (Godisreal) Is there evidence for the flood of Noah? Geologist Dr. Andrew Snelling, explains six geological evidences for the global flood.

What does the Fossil record show us?  (isgenesishistory) Everyone is fascinated with fossils… they are windows into a vanished world… everyone agrees it’s clear evidence there were an enormous number of creatures living on the earth in the past that are now dead and buried within the rock layers of the earth. It is a complex story. But paleontologist Dr. Marcus Ross does an excellent job pulling many of the pieces together to reveal what the fossil record shows us about the history of the earth.

Fossil graveyards everywhere  (isgenesishistory) …Dr. Art Chadwick explained, “Fossilization requires rapid burial, and it requires other unique conditions that normally are not present. If my dog dies and I bury him in the backyard, he’s not made into a fossil. He’s going to deteriorate just like he would if he were above ground. But under unique circumstances, where you have rapid burial and then you have minerals coming in, and altering those remains, then you can preserve the fossil.” If fossilization is not happening in any extensive way today, then why do we have billions of fossils in the world?

Ten thousand Dinosaurs in one metre of Mud  (isgenesishistory) Dinosaurs are the iconic image of fossils and, even though they make up only a small fraction of the fossil record, they are certainly the most exciting… exploring a real dinosaur dig with over a million bones in it in one metre of mud.

What did the Flood do?  (isgenesishistory) …the tsunamis in the Pacific destroying entire islands where incredible mud flows obliterate everything in their paths. But those are small compared to a global flood. Such an event would totally transform the earth in ways impossible to imagine. When you realize there are enormous sequences of rock layers filled with fossils, each hundreds to thousands of feet thick, that stretch across the entire continent, you start to grasp what a global flood could do; devotional and video clip from the feature documentary ‘Is Genesis history?’

101 Scientific Facts  (eternal-productions; scroll down to numbers 20,21,29,30,31,32,33) written down in the Bible centuries before science discovered them:

  • The fact that God once flooded the earth would be denied (2 Peter 3:5-6). There is a mass of fossil evidence to prove this fact, yet it is flatly ignored by most of the scientific world because it was God’s judgment on man’s wickedness.
  • Vast fossil deposits anticipated (Genesis 7). Geologists now know that fossils only form if there is rapid deposition of life buried away from scavengers and bacteria. This agrees exactly with what the Bible says occurred during the global Flood.
  • The continents were created as one large land mass (Genesis 1:9-10). Many geologists agree there is strong evidence that the earth was originally one super continent – just as the Bible said way back in Genesis.
  • Continental drift inferred (Genesis 7:11). Today the study of the ocean floor indicates that the landmasses have been ripped apart. Scripture states that during the global Flood the “fountains of the great deep were broken up.” This cataclysmic event apparently resulted in the continental plates breaking and shifting.
  • Ice Age inferred (Job 38:29-30). Prior to the global Flood the earth was apparently subtropical. However shortly after the Flood, the Bible mentions ice often – “By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen” (Job 37:10). Evidently the Ice Age occurred in the centuries following the Flood.
  • Origin of the rainbow explained (Genesis 9:13-16). Prior to the Flood there was a different environment on the earth (Genesis 2:5-6). After the Flood, God set His rainbow “in the cloud” as a sign that He would never again judge the earth by water. Meteorologists now understand that a rainbow is formed when the sun shines through water droplets – which act as a prism – separating white light into its color spectrum.
  • Light can be divided (Job 38:24). It was discovered that white light is made of seven colors, which can be “parted” and then recombined. Science confirmed this four centuries ago – God declared this four millennia ago!

  • Flood Legends

Flood Legends from around the world – information for kids  (answersingenesis) The worldwide catastrophic Flood, recorded in the Bible was a real event that affected real people. Flood legends abound globally across many cultures… including Africa, China, Greece, Mexico and North American Indians.

Legends of a Flood in 270 different cultures  (answersingenesis) Not surprising, considering that everyone alive on Earth today is related to Noah and his family, “over 270 cultures retain distant memories of that “life-changing event.” The details have been lost, but most of the legends share common themes: man became corrupt; the flood was worldwide; eight people survived; representatives of all land animals were saved; a dove was released to seek dry land; the survivors came down from a mountain to re-populate the whole world…

Flood Traditions from all over the world  (icr.org) One of the strongest evidences for the global Flood that annihilated all people on Earth except for Noah and his family has been the presence of flood legends in the folklore of people groups from around the world. And the stories are all so similar. Local geography and cultural aspects may be present, but they all seem to be telling the same story. Over the years I have collected more than 200 of these stories… While the differences are not always trivial, the common essence of the stories is instructive… Once there was a worldwide flood sent by God to judge the wickedness of man. But there was one righteous family that was forewarned of the coming flood. They built a boat on which they survived the flood along with the animals. As the flood ended, their boat landed on a high mountain, and they descended and repopulated the whole earth; from scientists who take the Bible seriously; share a snippet with your child.

Was the Flood worldwide?  (creation.com) scroll down and download chapter 10 of this free Q&A apologetics book for your older child; and check out the answers to other tricky questions you or your child may have while you are there; from scientists who take the Bible seriously; free printable

Noah’s Flood covered the whole Earth  (answersingenesis) Reasons why it could not have been a local flood, e.g. If the Flood was local, why did Noah have to build an Ark? He could have walked to the other side of the mountains and missed it. If the Flood was local, why would birds have been sent on board? These could simply have winged across to a nearby mountain range.

Worldwide Flood, Worldwide Evidence  (answersingenesis) When the Bible refers to a worldwide Flood in Genesis 7-8, that’s exactly what it means. Not local, not metaphorical, not some crazy dream—the waters covered the whole earth. Don’t just take our word for it, though. Take a look at the evidence right beneath your feet: Fossils of sea creatures high above sea level; Rapid burial of plants and animals; Rapidly deposited sediment layers over vast areas; Sediment transported long distances; Rapid or no erosion between strata; Many strata laid down in rapid succession. The evidence is real. God has revealed Himself to us in His Word and in His creation. How will you respond?

  • Noah’s Ark Replicas

Ark Encounter  (answersingenesis) Noah’s Ark tourist theme park in USA that features a full-size Noah’s Ark that will make your jaw drop. Partly built by Amish timber framers using incredible workmanship, it’s the largest timber frame structure in the world (pdf) with some wooden beams more than 3 feet in diameter and nearly 50 feet long. Inside the Ark, the ship’s handcrafted animals will amaze you. You’ll recognize some of the animals, but prepare to meet some odd-looking creatures you’ve probably never even heard of, as many of the animals that lived during Noah’s lifetime didn’t look much like the animals we see around today, as they were the original KINDS that God created. Check out this cool drone footage (below) of the ark as it was under construction and share it with your child. If you are looking for a different twist to this theme, maybe you might like to share how this ark was built; more exhibits; or even how 21st century video gaming technology was used to make the 3D people and animal models. Take a personal tour wandering through the Ark Encounter with Ken Ham.

Noah’s Ark  (noahsark.com.hk) This full size Noah’s Ark replica is a massive tourist resort complex in Hong Kong – 5 storeys high – complete with animals – and has been built to the (almost) exact dimensions of the original ark. They actually ran out of room, so are a bit short by about six feet. Click on ‘park attractions’ – then ‘park map’ to get some idea of the size. Here is a photo of the actual ark complex sitting near the freeway to the Hong Kong airport, and you can clearly see a bus passing overhead, which looks tiny in comparison. More great photos here. Dr Carl Wieland from creation.com was curious enough to fly there and spend a whole day in this massive tourist complex, but was still not able to see everything, and notes, “Where the original Ark had three decks, its Hong Kong counterpart [of the same size] has five levels. The ground floor has an ocean-front restaurant and banquet hall, and the top floor is “Noah’s hotel” with sea views.”

  • Fairy Tale Arks might be cute, BUT…

Why Fairy Tale Arks are so dangerous  (arkencounter) Answers in Genesis is dedicating an entire exhibit at the Ark Encounter to warn people how they could be unknowingly teaching their kids to disbelieve the Bible from a young age… Let’s remember that the Biblical account of the Ark and the Flood is not a fun story about an old man and lots of cute animals. It’s about God judging an exceedingly wicked world while sparing a righteous man, his family, and representatives of the land animals from destruction. A sign inside the Ark Encounter complex with a snake twisted around it reads, ‘If I can convince you that the flood was not real, then I can convince you that Heaven and Hell are not real.’ You’ll learn about the 7D’s of Deception (a twist on the Creation 7C’s of History)—Deceptively Cute, Disregarding God’s Word, Disorienting the Reader, Distorting the Message, Discrediting the Truth, Destructive for All Ages, Defaming God’s character. Many of the fairy tale arks are extremely cute and were surely drawn with great intentions. However cute things are not necessarily innocent or harmless, and good intentions can lead to disastrous consequences.

Cartoon Arks  (creation.com) How such ‘delightful depictions’ downplay the Deluge—and Christianity. The Bible in Genesis Chapter 6 very clearly sets out the dimensions, purpose and shape of Noah’s Ark… A ridiculously-shaped small houseboat with giraffes’ heads poking out of windows, and elephants’ trunks hanging down the side leaves the impression of a rather pathetic-looking, definitely non-ocean-going boat that drastically downplays the Flood as a real event in Biblical history. And it detracts from the real history of God’s judgment on the evil of mankind; kids seem to be meant to enjoy the picture mostly because of the cute animals, rather than learning about God’s grace towards those He saved.

The Deluge – Flood of Noah  (Dr Chuck Missler) an article to discuss with older kids – Did it really happen? Was the Ark big enough? Where did it rest? And did you know that the “new beginning” of the world under Noah, was on the very “anniversary-in-advance” of our “new beginning” in Jesus Christ. The New Testament is in the Old Testament concealed; and the Old Testament is in the New Testament revealed. One book. One Message. It’s all about Him.

How Big was Noah’s Ark?  (arkencounter) Noah’s Ark was a massive ship. This wooden vessel measured approx 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high. These are staggering dimensions… think of it this way. That’s nearly one and a half football fields long, higher than a 4-storey house, and the Ark had the storage capacity of 450 semi-trailers—that’s enough room for about 120,000 sheep.

Just how Big was Noah’s Ark?  (answersingenesis) The Bible tells us Noah’s Ark was 300 cubits long… Let’s compare it to things we are familiar with, like airplanes, football fields, space shuttles, Olympic swimming pools, submarines, aircraft carriers, telephone poles and railway cars…

Noah’s Ark – Q&A for kids  (answersingenesis) How big was Noah’s Ark? Which animals did Noah take? How did Noah care for the animals? Did the flood really cover the whole Earth? Is there any evidence today of a global flood? Could the Ark have survived the flood? Has the Ark ever been found?

Noah’s Ark – fun facts for kids  (answersingenesis) When did God flood the world? How long was their trip? How big was the Ark? What did the animals eat? Were dinosaurs too big for the Ark? What was the ark made of? How did the water come? Who shut the door? Where is Noah’s Ark today? How big is a cubit? Where did all the flood waters go? (They’re still here! At the end of the Flood, the valleys sank down and the mountains rose up. The flood waters ran off the land and into the oceans).

Noah’s Ark – Q&A  (answersingenesis) What did the Ark look like? How many people built it? How many animals were on it? How could Noah’s family care for all those animals? and more

Noah’s Flood – Q&A | Noah’s Ark – Q&A  (creation.com) for answers to all those tricky questions you may have, and if you have them, your child will, too. Was the ark big enough? How could all those animals fit? Was the flood really global? What about the dinosaurs? Where did the water come from? Where did all the water go? Is there historical evidence of a global flood? Geology? Fossils? Animal migration? How did kangaroos get to Australia? and more; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.

How did Noah fit all the animals on the Ark?  (arkencounter; scroll down) Noah didn’t take two of every species on the Ark—only two of each “kind” of animal. The biblical “kind” is actually more like the “family” level of classification. That’s a lot fewer animals! Share this very quick snippet with your child.

How did Noah fit all the animals on the Ark?  (creation.com) Skeptics often toss this challenge out, thinking there is no answer, but there is, and a simple one at that. There are two parts to the question—the number of animals, and the size of the Ark.

How did Noah fit all the animals on the Ark?  (icr.org) Not long ago I was interviewed on a “news-talk” radio show. The host was a particularly venomous anti-Christian, with a long history of ridiculing Christianity. His introductory comment was, “You’re one of those idiots who believes the earth is only six-thousand years old. Tell me one thing. How did Noah get all those millions of dinosaurs onboard Noah’s Ark?”

Dinosaurs on the Ark? – fun facts for kids  (answersingenesis) We often hear that dinosaurs died out millions of years ago. But that’s not true. God’s Word, the Bible, tells us something totally different. It’s NOT a big mystery. Dinosaurs were created about 6,000 years ago on Day 6 with the other land animals AND with people. Yes, dinosaurs and humans lived together. Dinosaurs were also on Noah’s Ark. God sent at least two of each air-breathing, land-dwelling animals.

One Flood, One Boat, One Man and One God – fun facts for kids  (answersingenesis) Everyone, beginning with Adam and Eve (the first two people), has disobeyed God. That’s called sin. Only 1,700 years after creation—about 4,300 years ago—the people were so disobedient to God that God sent a flood, Noah’s Flood, to kill every person and air-breathing land animal on the earth. God is very patient. He gave the people a long time to stop sinning, but they wouldn’t. Who survived? Will there be another global flood? How does God provide a way for us to escape His judgement?

Genesis 6-9 – Bible commentaries  (blueletterBible) include a snippet in your letter or print off a whole article for older children; tons of wonderful information here (both audio and text) about Noah’s Ark, and of course my favourite is Chuck Missler.

Students are surprised to find Noah’s Ark feasible  (icr.org) Advanced physics students at a secular UK university were given an unusual assignment:  to determine if the Biblical dimensions of Noah’s ark—assuming it was properly constructed—could have supported 70,000 animals. Students were extremely surprised at what they found…

Ocean Commotion VBS  (answersingenesisvbs) Every day, our kids are challenged to stand for God in their schools, among their friends, in our culture. And they’re bombarded with the lie that God’s Word isn’t true when it talks about earthly things (rocks, fossils), so it can’t be trusted to tell the truth about spiritual things. Noah experienced the same challenges during the time of the great Flood thousands of years ago. Yet, by God’s grace, he was able to Stand for God, Obey God, Trust God, Thank God, and Fear God . . . no matter what. The biggest watery catastrophe the world has ever known happened during his lifetime. But through it all, Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Let your kids dive deep into the account of Noah and the Flood from the book of Genesis. They’ll learn to apply the spiritual lessons from Noah’s life to their own. And, along the way, they’ll uncover earthly lessons from the Flood: how all the animals fit on the Ark, how the Flood covered the whole Earth, and how we can still see the effects of this Flood today. They’ll also learn that the flood legends from around the world are based on the true account in Genesis

  • Where did all the water go?

Where did all the Water go?  (creation.com) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; If the earth’s surface were even, then there is enough water in the oceans to cover the earth to a depth of about 3 km. This suggests that, during the Flood, the ocean floor moved vertically, relative to the continents, something mentioned in the Bible (Psalm 104:8)… The ocean basins would have only had to rise enough for the water to cover everything. Then, in the second half of the Flood, other parts of the earth’s crust sank. The water flowed off our continents into new ocean basins. Movement of the earth’s crust at this time also pushed up new mountain ranges, including the one that is home to Mt Everest. So where did all the water go? It is in the ocean.

How did the Water drain off the continents?  (creation.com) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; This question has a simple answer, and once we understand what happened and how, we can see the reality of the Biblical Flood all around the world. The floodwater is in the oceans! The Pacific Ocean alone takes up almost half the earth’s surface.

Where did all the water go?  (answersingenesis) The short answer is that our planet is called the “Blue Planet” for a reason (it’s covered in 70% water) – so the water from the Global Flood is still here, making up our oceans.

Science confirms the Genesis Flood – again  (wnd) the discovery of actual droplets of the water hundreds of miles deep below the Earth’s surface… traces of water trapped within diamonds

  • Rainbow

Why did God send a Rainbow?  (icr.org) Noah and his family had just come through an unimaginably frightening experience… As Noah and his family stepped off the Ark they entered a world totally unfamiliar to them. The geography had all changed. Plant and animal life had been devastated. Weather patterns were chaotic. Gone was the pre-Flood stability they were accustomed to. Consider that the world was “broken”… they needed reassurance that there would never be another Flood like the Great Flood of Noah’s day… Thus it was out of God’s grace and mercy that He instituted this beautiful reminder of His protection. And every time they saw a majestic rainbow it would remind them of the security they have in Him.

Rainbows, the Flood, God’s Covenant, and the Science  (creation.com) Although the rainbow is a spectacular sight for man, the assurance we have that there will never be another global flood comes from God. He is the one who will ‘remember’ His covenant… ensuring that no subsequent flood would become global… Rainbows are the result of well-known physics. When light enters at an angle into a substance where it travels more slowly (like a prism), different wavelengths are bent differently. This effect is called dispersion. Since colour depends on wavelength, we see this as a band of different colours… colour is a property of the light itself; coloured objects don’t generate colour, they absorb or reflect light that is already coloured… red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet…

The Rainbow, a Biblical covenant of Grace  (answersingenesis) the true meaning of the rainbow is revealed in Genesis 9:12–15… So the next time you see a rainbow, remember that God judges sin. He judged with a global flood at the time of Noah. But He is merciful, and He made a covenant of grace with Noah and the animals that He would never again judge with a worldwide Flood. Not only that, but the rainbow, as a symbol of Christ, reminds us that He is the mediator between man and God and that those who receive the free gift of salvation are presented faultless before their Creator. God declares those redeemed who have trusted in Christ.

  • They lived how long?!

Declining Life spans of Adam’s descendants  (icr.org) From Noah to Abraham, the numbers reveal an overall steep trend of diminishing life spans. When the data is plotted on a graph, a definite exponential curve emerges. What caused this pattern? [Fascinating.]

Did Adam and Noah really live for hundreds of years?  (answersingenesis) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; similar claims of long life spans are found in the secular literature of several ancient cultures including the Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, Indians, and Chinese. But even a life span of nearly 1,000 years is sadly abbreviated when we consider that God initially created us to live forever.

People could live for centuries  Dr Aubrey de Grey, a scientist and doctor who has devoted his life to the quest for treatments to stop aging, insists that humans should be able to consistently re-repair and live as long as 1,000 years or possibly even forever. “People have this crazy concept that ageing is natural and inevitable, and I have to keep explaining that it is not. The human body is a machine with moving parts and like a car or an aeroplane, it accumulates damage throughout life…”

The rainbow is a sign of God’s promise, that he will guide us through any storm. Do you know what each color in the rainbow means? Red represents the blood Jesus shed for us. NOAH’S ARK ~ LEARN TO DRAW FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE

How would your child draw Noah’s Ark?  (creation.com) I was asked to take a children’s teaching session… The very first task was for the kids to draw Noah’s Ark; they were given no other instruction or prompting. All of the children, to my knowledge, were from a church background. I was presented with a wide range of shapes and sizes of the Ark when they had finished their drawings. The majority had drawn small bathtub-style arks. I asked them where they had got the idea for their image. The responses were mostly: from a book, a toy, the internet, TV, and Sunday School. A bathtub ark conveys a fairy tale, not a real, historical event. Then I asked the children who had drawn an ark that more closely compared to proportions of the biblical Ark where their idea had come from. All resolutely answered: the Bible! Try this ‘Drawing Noah’s Ark’ exercise with your own kids, Sunday School, or youth group; see what result you get, and then use it as a fun teaching session! Or turn it into a hands-on activity and find something near you (e.g. a public building, a sports ground) and take the children out to measure it, so they can see with their own eyes just how big Noah’s Ark really was.

nextmanga.com  (for purchase) The story of the universe in manga form. A comic book Bible series that keeps kids/teens (and adults!) riveted. Book 1 (Mutiny) tells the story starting from creation in Genesis 1 and up to time of the Exodus from Egypt (somewhere around Exodus 15). And I love how they have added a few extra frames of background history to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the true villain of history. The top angel (a created being like us) rebels against the Creator; is kicked out of Heaven; becomes God’s arch enemy; and arrives on earth to create mischief, mayhem and havoc with… (as he sneers)… ‘God’s favoured ones’ – humans. To rob, kill and destroy. Buy and send a few pages at a time. It’s also an excellent gift idea for a sponsor visit. My kids loved these. Monica told us that it was her favourite book.  :)

  13. Enjoyed the links very much. Ray Comfort rocks! This Hollywood Noah movie is not surprising. Disappointing,
but not surprising considering the source. The sad thing is how Mr Comfort’s film so accurately depicts our society. Asleep and in darkness. Yet, time is so short. Thanks for the inspiration to keep praying and sharing Gods truth. Blessings for your hard work.

    • Yes, our little drop is just a drop in the ocean, but as Mother Teresa used to say, if we do not do it, our drop is missing forever. So we keep doing it AND we have the last page in the book. We know we win in the end! Blessings Sue. :)
