All of Papa’s busy little critters have been designed with a very important job to do and bees are vital for life in our world, so let’s give them their own page. BIBLE VERSES

Genesis 1:20-23 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. BEES ~ INFORMATION FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE

Plants and Pollinators (answersingenesis) Birds, bats, bees, butterflies, and all sorts of living things are responsible for keeping the plants all around us growing and healthy. God’s design is everywhere, even in the tiniest insects! The next time you see a bumblebee, stop to look at what the little guy is up to; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.

Can it Bee (creation.com) Honeybees fly with a remarkable agility that would be the envy of stunt pilots, yet their navigation ‘software’ is packed into a brain the size of a sesame seed… Bees have airspeed gauges; gyroscopes; a ‘compass’ that detects the polarization of sunlight; UV sensors to track the horizon to measure tilt; and two compound eyes, each with 7,000 hexagonal (six-sided) facets. These facets are windows to sub-eyes called ommatidia, which are tiny tubes containing their own lens and light-detecting cells; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.

Dancing Bees (creation.com) Imagine you are a honeybee. You leave your hive one fine spring morning and scout around until you notice a field full of new flowers in bloom. The food back in your hive which the 15,000 bees in your colony have fed on through the winter has been getting low… you fill your special honey stomach with nectar and fly the 250 metres back to your hive… how do you tell the other bees in your hive where to find the blossoms you have discovered?

A Sweet Revelation (answersingenesis) When I consider the life of the honey bee, I shake my head that I once believed that such creatures were accidental products of blind chance… The honey bee is a wonderful example of this intricate design and complex genetic information, the knowledge of which forever changed my life.

Bees outsmart supercomputers (creation.com) One of the most fiendishly complex mathematical computations is the so-called ‘Travelling Salesman Problem’. Given a list of locations (e.g. cities) and the distances between them, it involves finding the shortest possible route in which each location is visited only once. As the number of locations increases past anything more than a handful, the complexity of the problem increases dramatically, to staggering proportions. Yet bees do it as a matter of course… for hundreds of locations; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.

Honeybees: one of God’s sweetest designs (answersingenesis) We’ve all heard the phrase “busy as a bee”… During its frenetic working lifetime, a single worker bee may add merely one-twelfth of a teaspoon of prized honey to its colony. Yet the power of the bee is in the cooperation of the colony.

Bees – Bold Explorers (answersingenesis) Bee scouts—their mission: to explore strange new fields, to seek out new flowers and new sources of food, to boldly go where no bee from their hive has gone before. But what motivates a bee scout? What makes her take risks, explore the unfamiliar, unselfishly bring back news of her discoveries and set out again to spend herself for the sake of the hive?

Can Bees see colours? (answersingenesis) Scientists believe that bees can see colors… God created plants on Day Three of Creation Week (Genesis 1:11-13), before He created insects on Day Five. God created flowers first and designed their colors to appear attractive to the bees He would later create…

Bees and Colours (answersingenesis) look at a flower through a bee’s eyes; from scientists who take the Bible seriously; With eyes that see in ultraviolet, bees perceive flowers differently than humans do. And that’s by design. Where you might see a sea of yellow or white petals, bees see a bullseye pattern that directs them to the main concentration of nectar and pollen.

Bee Swarms (answersingenesis) Bees are most vulnerable when a colony leaves the safety of a hive to search for a new home… but they are are experts at survival—by working together. While scouts seek a permanent home, the swarm will form a temporary, buzzing swarm surrounding the queen on a convenient spot, such as a tree branch. A few bees hang onto the branch while the rest mold themselves into a particular shape.

Honeybees navigate with a map of polarized light (answersingenesis) Bees dance the light fantastic; polarized light imprints GPS directions on the honeybee brain’s genes; The more we find out how honeybees make their way around the landscape, the more awed we feel at the elegant way they solve very complicated problems of navigation… and then communicate them to other bees; include a snippet for your child from scientists who take the Bible seriously.

Electrical charges direct Bees to nectar (answersingenesis) How do bees know which flowers to visit to load up on nectar? Which flowers have already been plundered? A team from the UK’s University of Bristol believes the attraction is electrical… Biblically we know that plants were created on the third day of Creation Week about 6,000 years ago and the flying animals that pollinate many of them just 2 days later. God created plants and animals able to reproduce successfully, so we can conclude He created them with these symbiotic relationships, or with the ability to adapt to form them. It has taken mankind 6,000 years to discover it…

Bumblebees – an electric exchange (answersingenesis) God has equipped bumblebees with an electrical charge and has perfectly designed petunia flowers to respond to the electrical stimulus for pollination. Clearly, the processes of this electrical relationship are not aimless. They are orchestrated to seamlessly work together, demonstrating God’s incredible handiwork; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.

Un-bee-lievable Vision (icr) Much has been written and filmed of this insect’s incredible ability to make perfectly-formed combs containing hexagonal cells for maximum utilization of space and heat transfer. The bee’s ability to convey the location of a food source to fellow workers via a sophisticated “dance” is legendary. Twenty-first century research has now revealed that bee vision is more complex than anyone thought… solve complicated color puzzles and even recognize human faces… also been created with the ability to distinguish up to 300 separate flashes of light per second, an attribute they use as they rapidly fly over the changing landscape. The next time a busy bee buzzes by you on its way to a field, remember that it is designed to do and find things that our most sophisticated machines and computers cannot do; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.

Creeping, Crawling Critters that show God’s amazing creativity (answersingenesis) What in the world is an entomologist? It’s someone who studies insects. And there are a lot of insects to study! How many are there? Well, those bug-studying entomologists tell us that at least one million different insect species live in the world, but there are probably lots and lots more. Insects can be really tiny and hard to find! Do bugs bug you? Here are some fun facts about some of them; from scientists who take the Bible seriously

The Bee’s Knees (creationdesign) There are hairs that reach around the hollowed-out area on the upper and lower segment to form a basket-like structure… The loading of the pollen is accomplished primarily through the use of a comb that is placed on the inside of the knee. The inside of the Bee’s knee is entirely different from the outside… the knee is designed to transport pollen only on the outside… The Creator designed it this way… the bee can comb the honey from its body hairs into the carrying “baskets” on its legs…
