REMEMBER AND GIVE THANKS

Remembering what God has done for us and giving thanks. These are the twin themes of Deuteronomy 8. Everything we have comes from the Lord. It is when we kid ourselves that we have done it all ourselves and forget God (both on a personal and a national level) that we start to run into trouble. BIG trouble. THANKSGIVING ~ BIBLE VERSES

Deuteronomy 8:2  And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Psalm 30:4  Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

Psalm 50:14  Let the giving of thanks be your gift to God and give the Almighty all that you promised.

Ephesians 1:3  Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For in our union with Christ He has blessed us by giving us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world.

Ephesians 1:15-16  For this reason, ever since I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks to God for you, I remember you in my prayers.

Ephesians 5:20  Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Colossians 2:7  Keep your roots deep in Him, build your lives on Him and become stronger in your faith, as you were taught. And be filled with thanksgiving.

1 Thessalonians 3:9  Now we can give thanks to our God for you. We thank Him for the joy we have in His presence because of you.

THE FIRST THANKSGIVING

In the movie documentary, Monumental, we find out that the first pilgrims were NOT the weedy people in strange bonnets that have been taught about in school history, but people of incredible strength and courage. They left a monument sharing their secrets of what made America great… and how they did it. A blueprint that if we ever forgot, would show us the way back to what made America great, what made America free, peaceful, and successful – the envy of the world for centuries.
