Courage, Gratitude and Hope
I was listening to an interview by a professor who specialised in pain management. He made a very interesting statement. Their research has discovered that the people who are the most resilient are those who have three qualities…
- Courage
- Gratitude ~ a thankful heart
- Hope
So today, here are some Bible verses to help us stock up on resilience. :)

- COURAGE
Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Psalm 3:3 But You, O Lord, are always my shield from danger; You give me victory and restore my courage.
Romans 15:4 Everything written in the Scriptures was written to teach us, in order that we might have hope through the patience and encouragement which the Scriptures give us.

- GRATITUDE
Psalm 30:4 Sing praise to the Lord, all His faithful people. Remember what the Holy One has done and give Him thanks.
Psalm 111:1-3 Praise the Lord! With all my heart I will thank the Lord… How wonderful are the things the Lord does… all He does is full of honour and majesty. His righteousness is eternal.
2 Corinthians 9:15 Let us thank God for His priceless gift.
Philippians 4:6 Do not worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers.
Hebrews 13:15 Let us then, always offer praise to God as our sacrifice through Jesus, which is the offering presented by lips that confess Him as Lord.

- HOPE
Psalm 33:20 We put our hope in the Lord. He is our protector and our help.
Isaiah 57:15 I am the high and holy God, who lives for ever. I live in a high and holy place, but I also live with people who are humble and repentant, so that I can restore their confidence and hope.
Isaiah 64:4 No one has ever seen or heard of a God like You, who does such deeds for those who put their hope in Him.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Lamentations 3:22-25 The Lord’s unfailing love and mercy still continue. Fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise. The Lord is all I have and so I put my hope in Him. The Lord is good to everyone who trusts in Him.
Romans 4:18, 21 Abraham believed and hoped, even when there was no reason for hoping… He was absolutely sure that God would be able to do what He had promised.
Romans 5:3-4 We also boast of our troubles, because we know that trouble produces endurance, endurance brings God’s approval, and His approval creates hope.
Romans 12:12 Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all times.
Romans 15:4 Everything written in the Scriptures was written to teach us, in order that we might have hope through the patience and encouragement which the Scriptures give us.
1 Corinthians 13:7 Love never gives up and it’s faith, hope and patience never fail.
Ephesians 1:18 I ask that your minds may be opened to see His light, so that you will know what is the hope to which He has called you, how rich are the wonderful blessings He promises His people.
Hebrews 11:1 To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see.
