There are many gods (little g) around, so how can we know the One True God? Here’s a clue from Romans 1:23: “They exchanged God’s truth for a lie and worshipped and served the creation rather than the Creator.” All the fakes have been created. Their founder eventually ends up under a gravestone somewhere. The one true God is the Creator.

THINK SPOT
“A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic—on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg—or else he would be the devil of hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.” C.S. Lewis

A BIT OF BACKGROUND
Before we start, this song clearly explains the difference between the real God and all the others. Yes, there is only One True God. Only the most priceless treasures are ever counterfeited. No one bothers to counterfeit fake diamonds. And when God came to Earth as a human being in the form of Jesus Christ, He proved that He was God by His power over nature and particularly, by conquering death. All the claims for Christianity hang on that fact: that we serve a living Saviour. Most of His followers died horrendous deaths for refusing to deny that they believed that Jesus Christ had risen again and for telling others about it. He also proved that He was the Messiah by fulfilling 300+ very specific prophecies that were in ‘black and white’, written down hundreds of years before Jesus was born and only ever fulfilled in one historical figure. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob from the Bible is a trinity: God the Father; Jesus the Son; and the Holy Spirit. Here are some FREE colouring pages, puzzles, crafts, and creative ideas to help explain the mystery of the Trinity to your child.

BIBLE VERSES
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Psalm 148:5 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for He commanded, and they were created.
John 8:58 ‘Before Abraham was, I AM!’
John 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
John 10:30-33 ‘I and my Father are one.’ Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, ‘Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?’ The Jews answered him, saying, ‘For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, make thyself God.’
John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen Me hath seen the Father…
Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” [considering how close it’s getting, that is so comforting!]
Psalm 2 is an interesting dialogue between the Trinity – check it out. SO relevant for today.
Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. [This is the Gospel in a nutshell] And that He was seen…

DID YOU KNOW: Different Scriptures show us that every major event in the Bible is ascribed specifically to each member of Elohim (the Trinity). Totally confusing, until you realise that they are the same; equal, yet different; working seamlessly together as One. This chart sets it out simply and clearly. Someone once explained to me that the Trinity is like our sun – it has heat, light and energy – 3 attributes or functions coming from the same source at the same time. That analogy also helped me understand how God could be with us all at the same time, just as the one sun is effortlessly reflected in different puddles along the beach. Dr Chuck Missler likens the Trinity to 3 directors of a corporation. Separate, with different jobs to do, yet all working seamlessly together and towards the one goal. What analogy works for you?

Who made God? – FREE article for kids (creation.com) “Yeah, Smartie-Pants,” said Tom. “Well who made the builders?” Here, Matt was very confident. “God made the builders,” he announced. “Well, who made God, Mr Know-It-All?” asked Tom sarcastically. Now that was a question too hard for Matt, so he suggested they go and speak to Mr Wiseman, their teacher. He was a good teacher, always keen to answer questions from his class, so they went up the old, worn steps of the school to find him; beautifully illustrated article from scientists who take the Bible seriously
The Trinity (Chuck Missler) Different Scriptures show us that every major event in the Bible is ascribed specifically to each member of Elohim (the Trinity) as is highlighted in this chart.
Seven I AM statements of Jesus (Chuck Missler) I love the confrontation in the Gospel of John when he speaks of Abraham—“before Abraham was, I AM.” Jesus is here declaring that He is the voice of the burning bush. Now, anytime that you and I might miss the implication of something, the Pharisees come to our rescue. They took up stones to cast at Him. Why were they so upset? Because they recognized what He was saying. [Jesus was in fact executed for claiming to be God, the GREAT I AM.]
One God or Three? (Chuck Missler) How does one reconcile the “One God” of the Old Testament with the three “Persons” of the New Testament Trinity? An informative article you may like to discuss with your child; free printable
