One innovative sponsor addressed a letter to her child as: Dear Astronaut… (then inserted her child’s name), and wrote a fun letter giving them a ‘special mission’ to accomplish with puzzles, colouring pages, crafts, etc specially tailored for them. This free article was inspired by something I spotted over at the soho site (nasa/esa) and is according to their scale. It shows how big we are compared to our sun. Not very. But did you know that there are massive stars out there that make OUR SUN look as tiny as Pluto! Woah! Can barely even see it. So, our problems, compared to our magnificent God who made all this – AND calls each star by name – are a piece of cake! Encourage your child with this article designed just for them. 101 Scientific Facts  (eternal-productions) written in the Bible centuries before they were discovered, from scientists who take the Bible seriously. Print off the whole article or include a snippet in your letter each time you write. Here are just a few of them:

1. The earth free-floats in space (Job 26:7). Other sources declared the earth sat on the back of an elephant or turtle, or was held up by Atlas. The Bible alone states what we now know to be true – “He hangs the earth on nothing.”
2. The universe had a beginning (Genesis 1:1; Hebrews 1:10-12). Science has confirmed the biblical view that the universe had a beginning. When the Bible was written, most people believed the universe was eternal. Science has proven them wrong, but the Bible correct.
3. Incalculable number of stars (Jeremiah 33:22). At a time when less than 5,000 stars were visible to the human eye, God stated that the stars of heaven were innumerable. Today, astronomers estimate that there are ten thousand billion trillion stars – that’s a 1 followed by 25 zeros. Yet, as the Bible states, scientists admit this number may be woefully inadequate.
4. The number of stars, though vast, are finite (Isaiah 40:26). Although man is unable to calculate the exact number of stars, we now know their number is finite. Of course God knew this all along – “He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name” (Psalm 147:4). What an awesome God.
5. The Bible compares the number of stars with the number of grains of sand on the seashore (Genesis 22:17; Hebrews 11:12). Amazingly, estimates of the number of sand grains are comparable to the estimated number of stars in the universe.
6. The Second Law of Thermodynamics (Entropy) explained (Psalm 102:25-26). This law states that everything in the universe is running down, deteriorating, constantly becoming less and less orderly. Entropy (disorder) entered when mankind rebelled against God – resulting in the curse (Genesis 3:17; Romans 8:20-22). Historically most people believed the universe was unchangeable. Yet modern science verifies that the universe is “grow(ing) old like a garment” (Hebrews 1:11). Evolution directly contradicts this law [i.e. everything is getting better and better].
7. The sun goes in a circuit (Psalm 19:6). Some scientists scoffed at this verse and insisted the sun was stationary. However, we now know that the sun is literally moving in a huge circuit – just as the Bible stated 3,000 years ago.

Share interesting stories, facts, and photos about Arthur carrying the cross through your home country, or your child’s country, or other special places–e.g. Antarctica, the Great Wall of China, Siberia… and let them know a piece of that cross received official certification claiming that it blasted off the earth in a rocket: The Cross in Space. THINK SPOT:  Wow! Our God is the magnificent Creator who made all of this, to remind us how small we are and how big our Creator is. Our hassles and problems are insignificant to Him. He could make them disappear in a heartbeat – after they have accomplished a little more ‘polishing’ in our lives. This life is just a test: are we going to just be a ‘fan’ and get distracted by all the world has to offer; or a true ‘follower’ – loving Jesus with ALL our hearts the way He loves us?

Note:  While preparing this post, I found many great space / universe items that also included ‘little green men’. Although many of them had great ideas otherwise, they have been excluded. Here’s why… and you may even like to discuss this with your older children – as they will come across it. Many believe that this also will be part of the ‘end-times’ great delusion.

UFOs are NOT extraterrestrial  (Gary Bates / creation.com) As a young man (non-believer), I loved watching science fiction and its portrayal of older, more advanced extraterrestrials (ETs) inhabiting other worlds and warping around the galaxy in their hyperdrive spaceships. However, when I became a Christian and Biblical creationist, the strong evolutionary link to the belief in ET’s became obvious… I undertook specialist research into what is called the ‘UFO phenomenon’ which led to my Amazon top 50 best-selling book… I discovered deliberate and insidious attempts by dark spiritual forces to deceive mankind.

UFOs = Deceptions manifested by satan and his minions  (creation.com) My friend, Joe Jordan who I mentioned in the book, has now met and counseled over 400 former abductees whose experiences have stopped in the name of Christ, or people praying, singing hymns etc. If they are really ETs from another world, what is it about Christians they don’t like?

Do UFOs exist?  (Dr Chuck Missler) If so, what are they? There seems to be a growing concern within the psychiatric community from the strange (and far too frequent) reports from people who claim to have been “abducted” by the occupants of UFOs. These reports are too bizarre to accept, and yet too frequent-and consistent-to ignore… Dr. John E. Mack, who is professor of psychiatry at The Cambridge Hospital, Harvard Medical School… has been involved in almost a hundred of these cases personally, and has shocked the professional community by declaring that he believes these beings may be real and that they appear to have an agenda to develop a hybrid race! At a professional conference on abductions at M.I.T., Dr. Mack asked the provocative question, “If what these abductees are saying is happening to them isn’t happening, then what is?”

Alien Encounters  (Dr Chuck Missler)  Genesis 6 indicates that the “sons of God” (B’nai Elohim) took wives of the “daughters of men,” which gave birth to the “Nephilim.” What on earth was going on? It was the infusion of these strange beings into the human predicament that brought on the Flood of Noah. It seems that this was part of Satan’s stratagem to corrupt the line of Adam to prevent the fulfillment of the Messianic redemption.

Mischievous Angels?  (Dr Chuck Missler) Why did God send the judgment of the Flood in the days of Noah? The strange events recorded in Genesis 6 were understood by the ancient rabbinical sources, as well as the Septuagint translators, as referring to fallen angels procreating weird hybrid offspring with human women-known as the “Nephilim.” So it was also understood by the early church fathers. These bizarre events are also echoed in the legends and myths of every ancient culture upon the earth: the ancient Greeks, the Egyptians, the Hindus, the South Sea Islanders, the American Indians, and virtually all the others.

What about Aliens – puzzle / information worksheet for kids  (answersingenesis) Superman came from the planet Krypton. Mr. Spock is from the planet Vulcan. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from Kashyyyk. Movies, television programs and books tell us of worlds and life forms in far away galaxies. But is any of it true? Could there really be aliens in outer space? What can we learn from the Bible?
