- Rhino
Rhino (answersingenesis) The rhino is known for its immense body and stubby legs. Rhinos have either one or two horns on its heads, which are used in fighting with other rhinos and for protection against predators. Rhinos are herbivores, meaning that they eat only plants. A rhino can sleep while lying down or while standing up; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.
Rhinocerous (creation.com) Very little can withstand the force of a charging rhino. Railroad locomotives have been attacked by rhinos and even derailed! (A group of rhinos is sometimes called a ‘crash’—which seems apt!) Despite their great bulk and ‘stubby’ legs, they can run faster than an Olympic sprinter—incredibly, the black rhino can reach speeds of up to 55 km/hr (35 mph). Rhinos use their horns for sparring with each other, digging for edible plants, and for defense (all rhinos are vegetarian). Indian and Javan rhinos have a single horn; the Sumatran (or hairy) rhino, and the African white and black rhinos have two… made of densely-packed keratin fibres—the same substance as our fingernails and hair; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.
Woolly Rhinocerous (answersingenesis) Woolly Rhinoceros fossils were found in Europe. These critters had huge horns on their snout, with one horn growing over three feet long. They had shaggy, thick coats to help them withstand the harsh winter conditions. They were plant eaters; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.

Hippopotamus (answersingenesis) The hippo is known for its massive size. Its nostrils and eyes protrude from its head so that it can see and breathe while the rest of its body is submerged. The hippo can open its mouth almost 150° wide. Because of its great size, a hippo can actually walk or run on the bottom of the river; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.
Hippopotamus (answersingenesis) The hippopotamus is the third heaviest animal in the world… The hippo has fierce-looking teeth which are used for eating grasses, roots, large reeds, and aquatic plants; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.
Hippo habits (creation.com) The hippopotamus (‘hippo’ for short) is one of the most imposing and dangerous of God’s animals on earth… hippos (or ‘river horse’ in the Greek) can be extremely destructive. Their sheer size makes them virtually invulnerable to attack by another animal, including crocodiles, with which they share the waterways; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.
Hippopotamus (answersingenesis) Those pudgy pachyderms might look cute in the zoo, but don’t cross one in the wild. God specially designed them to fill their place in the river—and they guard it with everything they’ve got; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.

Meerkat (creation.com) Just after sunrise, a visitor to the Kalahari desert is certain to spot one of southern Africa’s most endearing celebrities—the meerkats. Scrutinizing the savannah scrublands, the keen observer is likely to see a dozen or more of these smallish animals with long, slender bodies. They ‘sit’ (or stand) upright on their hind legs, using their tail like the third leg of a tripod. Their unmistakeable upright stance, sitting together peering over the surrounding landscape, has become an African icon; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.
Tarsier (creation.com) This tiny, nocturnal, big-eyed critter is the only primate to communicate in pure ultrasound; from scientists who take the Bible seriously.
Tarsier (Christiananswers) The Tarsier is one of the smallest primates. Their eyes are so large that they would be equivalent to grapefruit-sized eyes in a human being and can turn their heads 180-degrees in each direction.
