AHOY ME HEARTIES! ARRR! YAR HA ARRR!
One of my favourite themes that I have done for my sponsored children was a Bible Treasure theme full of pirates, treasure chests, and swashbuckling adventure to encourage them to dig into eternal treasure and the promises of God. There’s a lot to cover, so it has been split into 3 separate posts to tell you what I sent and how I did it. If you missed them, here is part 1 and part 2. Now here is part 3 with more cool freebies and a free sample letter to complete your package of love. All the items here have been designed exclusively for you by Paper Gifts for Estefany and all are free printable… so enjoy!

BIBLE TREASURE THEME ~ ADAPT FOR YOUR CHILD
This theme was deliberately designed so that it can be adapted for your child, no matter how old they are. You may like to print extra copies of some of these items for your homeschool or Sunday school students, so they can share the fun around with family and friends. The free sample letter is also available in French. The Precious Pearls craft activity is available in French, Spanish and Swahili. I have also sent these items to our other non-English speaking sponsored children, but just made sure to include any relevant text that I really want them to know somewhere within the body of my letter to make sure it will be translated. Remind your sponsored child to look out for any children who may not have heard from their sponsor in a while and share items with them. Let them know that they are loved and not forgotten. Okay, off we go…

BIBLE TREASURE THEME ~ A TREASURE CHEST OF BIBLE VERSES ~ FREE PRINTABLE (A4)
Cut up and fill your treasure chest (real or printable) with your favourite Bible treasures. Add your child’s favourite Bible verses, and some of your own. For your homeschool or Sunday school students, print on photo paper (if you are adding verses before you print) or craft card (if handwriting them in), and it can be laminated if you wish. This could also be used for crafts, games, or as part of a Bible Treasure hunt. Click the link for some fun ideas. I’ve started the list off for you with some of my favourites…

BIBLE TREASURE THEME ~ IDIAL CRAFT FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE (A4)
Add your child’s name! This one will need to be cut out and attached together by your child, pinned through the centres using a split pin (if they have them) or even a twig, so that it will spin around. They may need their teacher or an adult to help them. Click on the image or the text to download in full resolution. Print on craft card or photo paper. I added a tiny clip art image on mine of a face peeking on the flap. I cut the Bible verse idials out for my children, laminated them, then cut them out again. I cut through the front flap, but did not cut it off, because all kids (even the big ones) like to lift the flaps to ‘peek here’. :)

BIBLE TREASURE THEME ~ PRECIOUS PEARLS CRAFT FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE (A4)
This paper craft activity opens up like an oyster shell and features Bible verse from Philippians 3:8 which slips inside (i.e. that’s the ‘precious pearl’) – Everything else is worthless compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. The idea came from a Scripture Union ‘God’s Hidden Treasure’ booklet which seems to be no longer available online. I actually did mine in full colour – one for the girls (with a tiny touch of glitter) and one for the boys with a bit of a psychedelic twist, which looked really cool. I printed a few of these for each child, for them to share around as ‘bounty’ with their family and friends (an idea from the sample letter, shown below). Click on the image or the text to download in full resolution. Print on craft card for best results. Cut out, fold, and decorate. The Precious Pearls craft activity is also available in French, Spanish and Swahili. If you like this idea and want to make your own, they are easy to make (just overlapping circles really) and could be used for lots of different Bible verses or for Bible verses in your child’s specific language.

NOTE: The precious pearls craft activity is perfect to go with this devotional: You are a precious pearl… priceless to God. But the beautiful pearl is covered with sin. God wants to clear off the dirt that surrounds us and bring out the beauty of who we are, as a part of His beloved creation. This cleansing starts when we completely give our lives to Jesus Christ, who suffered for all our sins and imperfections when He died on the cross. He wants to free the beauty captured by your sins, and make it visible to the world that surrounds you. He wants to show you to other people as a sparkling pearl filled with him. Share this beautiful insight with your child. Remind them that they are God’s precious treasure.

BIBLE TREASURE THEME ~ SECRET CLUB ID CARDS FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE (A4)
Add your child’s name! There are 8 per page; and there is space for children to write their name (or make up a pirate nickname), their age, favourite Bible verse, and just for extra fun, a secret password. When they’re finished, they can be laminated to keep them looking nice. Print extra for your little ‘pirate’ to share around with family and friends… because every pirate and their friends should seek eternal treasure.

BIBLE TREASURE THEME ~ SAMPLE LETTER FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE (A4)
Lastly, this sample letter was inspired by one of the many talented members of a sponsor forum (a wonderful place to learn and share ideas with other sponsors) who sent a Space / Universe theme to her sponsored child with her letter titled, ‘Dear Astronaut….. (child’s name)’ – so thanks, Danielle, for this fabulous inspiration. The letter is all done for you. All you need to do is write in your child’s name, a personal note, and then sign it. It was very kindly translated by D. Walther (thank you!) into French for our sponsored children. I loved sending this to Hubert in his own language. There is also a blank stationery template if you would like to write your own letter.

I think this is a very good idea. I have been trying to think of something to help my children in their relationship with God. I hope to use some of you ideas. I have three children that I sponsor and I think this will be an excellent way to bring my youngest closer to Our Father. My other two are much older. Thanks for the idea.

Yes, I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in the truth, too. (I love that Bible verse from 3 John). I also sent it to my older children, but adapted it for them and also asked them to share their package with their family and friends. Many of them have younger siblings. Thanks for your comment, VeNancy. Blessings. :)
