Bible Treasure Theme ~ Part 3

treasure gold and coins

AHOY ME HEARTIES! ARRR! YAR HA ARRR!

One of my most favourite themes that I have done for my Compassion kids was a Bible Treasure theme full of pirates, treasure chests and swashbuckling adventure to encourage them to dig into eternal treasure and the promises of God. It was such a fun theme and is suitable for homeschool and Sunday school, too.

There is a lot to cover, so I have split it into 3 separate posts to tell you what I sent and how I did it. If you missed them, see part 1 and part 2. Here is Bible Treasure theme part 3 with more ideas: free printable paper gifts and a free sample letter to make it a package of love. I have deliberately designed this theme so that it can be adapted for your child, no matter how old they are. All the items here have been designed exclusively for you by Paper Gifts for Estefany… enjoy!  :) *

SEND EXTRA COPIES
You may like to send extra copies of some of these items so your Compassion child can share the fun around with their family and friends. Remind them to look out for any children who may not have heard from their sponsor in a while. Let them know that they are loved and not forgotten. [That’s probably my kids at the moment! :o ] *

OTHER LANGUAGES
I also sent these items to our other non-English speaking children, but just made sure to include any relevant text that I really want them to know, somewhere within the body of my letter to make sure it will be translated. Okay, off we go…

BIBLE TREASURE THEME ~ A TREASURE CHEST OF BIBLE VERSES ~ FREE PRINTABLE (A4)

Cut up and fill your treasure chest with these free Bible verse treasure tokens. Add your child’s (or your own) favourite Bible verses. I’ve started the list off for you.

BIBLE TREASURE THEME ~ IDIAL FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE (A4)

Add your child’s name! This one will need to be attached together by your child, pinned through the centres using a twig or split drawing pin (if they have them), so that it will spin around. They may need their teacher to help them. There is room for a treasure chest image and I added a tiny face peeking (clip art image) on the flap. I cut the Bible verse idials out, laminated them, cut them out again. I cut through the front flap, but did not cut it off, because all kids (even the big ones) like to lift the flaps up to ‘peek here’.  :)

BIBLE TREASURE THEME ~ PRECIOUS PEARLS TO COLOUR ~ FREE PRINTABLE (A4)

This was one of my favourites. The idea came from a Scripture Union God’s hidden treasure booklet (no longer available online). I actually did mine in full colour – one for the girls (with a tiny touch of glitter) and one for the boys with a bit of a psychedelic twist, which looked really cool. I printed a few of these for each child, for them to share around as ‘bounty’ (an idea from the sample letter below). If you like this idea and want to make your own, they are easy to make (just overlapping circles really) and could be used for lots of different Bible verses. They are also available in French, Spanish and Swahili.

NOTE:  The precious pearls are also perfect to go with these devotional thoughts: You are a precious pearl… priceless to God. But the beautiful pearl is covered with sin. God wants to clear off the dirt that surrounds us and bring out the beauty of who we are, as a part of His beloved creation. This cleansing starts when we completely give our lives to Jesus Christ, who suffered for all our sins and imperfections when He died on the cross. He wants to free the beauty captured by your sins, and make it visible to the world that surrounds you. He wants to show you to other people as a sparkling pearl filled with him. Share this beautiful insight with your sponsored child. Tell them that they are God’s precious treasure.

… because every pirate and their friends should seek eternal treasure. Add your child’s name! There is space for them to write down their favourite Bible verse. Print extra if you think your little pirate might share with even more of their family and friends.

BIBLE TREASURE THEME ~ SAMPLE LETTER FOR KIDS ~ FREE PRINTABLE (A4)

This letter was inspired by one of the many talented members of the original Compassion sponsor forum (a wonderful place to learn and share ideas with other Compassion sponsors) who sent a Space / Universe theme to her sponsored child and letter titled, ‘Dear Astronaut… (child’s name)…’ so thanks Danielle for this fabulous inspiration. :)  There is room to add one or more Bible treasure photos or clip art, if you wish. The letter is all done for you – all you need to do is just write in your child’s name and details and then sign it. It is also available in French or as a blank frame, if you would like to write your own letter.

  4. I think this is a very good idea. I have been trying to think of something to help my children in their relationship with God. I hope to use some of you ideas. I have three children that I sponsor and I think this will be an excellent way to bring my youngest closer to Our Father. My other two are much older. Thanks for the idea.

    • Yes, I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in the truth, too. (I love that Bible verse from 3 John). I also sent it to my older children, but adapted it for them and also asked them to share their package with their family and friends. Many of them have younger siblings. Thanks for your comment, VeNancy. Blessings. :)
