Bible Treasure Theme Part 2 ~ Links

underwater treasure chest

One of my most favourite themes that I have done for my sponsored kids was a Bible Treasure theme full of pirates, treasure chests and swashbuckling adventure to encourage them to dig into eternal treasure and the promises of God. It was such a fun theme. I deliberately designed this theme so that it could be adapted for any of our kids, no matter how old they are… so just personalise it for your child… and enjoy!

  • Part 1 – Bible Treasure freebies.
  • Part 2 (this post) has lots of links of fun things you can send with your Bible treasure theme – Bible verses, ideas, colouring pages, puzzles, treasure maps, treasure chests, crafts, posters, bookmarks, stationery, and creative ideas.
  • Part 3 – More Bible Treasure freebies, including a sample letter you can download and use for your child.

In part 1 of this series, I described how as part of this Bible treasure theme, I started to print and send my children my 35 page colourful list of a ton of Bible verses – one sheet at a time. You are welcome to do this too, if you wish. My kids loved them.

A Ton of Bible Verses; free printable list

Exodus 19:5   Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.

Deuteronomy 7:6   For you are a holy people, who belong to the LORD your God. Of all the people on earth, the LORD your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure.

Deuteronomy 26:18   The LORD has declared today that you are his people, his own special treasure, just as he promised, and that you must obey all his commands.

1 Samuel 25:29   Even when you are chased by those who seek to kill you, your life is safe in the care of the LORD your God, secure in his treasure pouch! But the lives of your enemies will disappear like stones shot from a sling!

Job 22:25   The Almighty himself will be your treasure. He will be your precious silver

Psalm 119:111   Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.

Psalm 119:162  I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure.

Proverbs 2:1   My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands.

Proverbs 2:7   He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.

Proverbs 7:1   Follow my advice, my son; always treasure my commands.

Proverbs 10:14   Wise people treasure knowledge, but the babbling of a fool invites disaster.

Proverbs 15:16   Better to have little, with fear for the LORD, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil.

Isaiah 33:6   In that day he will be your sure foundation, providing a rich store of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the LORD will be your treasure.

Matthew 2:11   They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Matthew 6:21   Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.

Matthew 13:44   The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.

Matthew 19:21   Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Mark 10:21   Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Luke 12:33   “Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it.”

Luke 12:34   Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.

Luke 18:22   When Jesus heard his answer, he said, “There is still one thing you haven’t done. Sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

2 Corinthians 4:7   We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

1 Timothy 6:17-19   Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

More Bible Treasure verses + lots of different translations  (Tip: great resource)

You are a precious pearl (behind pop up screen)… priceless to God. But the beautiful pearl is covered with sin. God wants to clear off the dirt that surrounds us and bring out the beauty of who we are, as a part of His beloved creation. This cleansing starts when we completely give our lives to Jesus Christ, who suffered for all our sins and imperfections when He died on the cross. He wants to free the beauty captured by your sins, and make it visible to the world that surrounds you. He wants to show you to other people as a sparkling pearl filled with him. Share this beautiful insight with your sponsored child. Tell them that they are God’s precious treasure. Send some precious pearl colouring pages with it.

Treasure Map – colouring 3 to choose from – easy, medium, advanced; with room to add your own obstacles or text

A NOTE ABOUT MY OWN TREASURE MAP:  I used the advanced map (above) for all my kids and added my own Bible treasure map background behind it, extra clip art around the edge of the map; and text boxes with extra words near the hazards to make it specifically a Bible Treasure theme. You could easily write it in, if you prefer. As my treasure map template has a warning posted at the top: Hear ye hear ye! Be not diverted from finding true and eternal treasure and the promises of God, the additional text boxes included reasons and hazards any eternal treasure hunter may encounter, like: too busy; can’t be bothered; not interested; too tired; others not interested in God; the enemy steals God’s Word away from me (near the ship, with a ho ho ho me hearty next to it, making the enemy of our souls the real pirate); others discourage me from spending time with God; pursuing other things; others tell me the Bible is not God’s Word; and the timeless classic from Genesis 3 that still manages to trip us all up: Did God really say?
