FEATURING BIBLE VERSE
Luke 18:8 Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, shall He find faith on the earth?

THINK SPOT
1. Pastor Chuck Smith: I believe that we are living in the hardest period of history to live a consistent, consecrated Christian life. I don’t believe that ever in history has there been more temptation placed so freely before men… And at the same time, there has been a deteriorating of the moral standards… And I do not believe that ever in the history of man has there been such a broad exposure and a more difficult time to really live a truly committed life to Jesus Christ. And because the iniquity in the world is abounding, the love of many is waxing cold. And the question then that Jesus asked becomes very significant, “When I return, or when the Son of man comes, shall He find faith on the earth?” True, genuine faith and trust in His Word.

2. Matthew Henry commentary: It intimates that Christ, both in His particular comings for the relief of his people, and in His general coming at the end of time, may, and will, delay His coming so long as that,
- First, wicked people will begin to defy it, and to say, Where is the promise of His coming? (2 Peter 3:4) They will challenge Him to come (Isaiah 5:10; Amos 5:19); and His delay will harden them in their wickedness (Matthew 24:48).
- Secondly, even His own people will begin to despair of it, and to conclude He will never come, because He has passed their reckoning. God’s time to appear for His people is when things are brought to the last extremity, and when Zion begins to say, The Lord has forsaken me. (See Isaiah 49:14; 40:27). But this is our comfort, that, when the time appointed comes, it will appear that the unbelief of man has not made the promise of God of no effect.
*
3. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.
*
4. The fact that we get to stand with God at such a time as this, when you can stand with the remnant, that is a high, high honour. The fact that you get to stand with The King BEFORE He takes His throne on the earth, that is an honour… If it’s dark, so what? What candle complains because it’s dark out? It’s too busy shining… Are we going to fear the fight? No, embrace the fight… There’s going to be a fight, anyway. We might as well get into it. You know, many of us wanted to live in Biblical times… congratulations, we’re in Biblical times. –Unknown
