BURIED WITH CHRIST BY BAPTISM… RAISED TO WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE!

Several years ago, we had the wonderful privilege of knowing Umuhoza, our sponsored child in Rwanda, was serious about her faith and was going to be baptized. That called for a big celebration… and a baptism certificate in our next letter. If you would like to do that for your child when the time comes, here are a couple of free printable baptism certificates for you to choose from. Also, if you have been baptized and never had a certificate, why not print an extra copy to frame for your wall. Plus, at the end of the post, there are more free certificates for kids… enjoy!

CERTIFICATE OF BAPTISM ~ FOR KIDS (OR ADULTS) ~ FREE PRINTABLE (A4)

This certificate, designed by Paper Gifts for Estefany, simply says: This certificate is awarded to (insert your child’s name) in recognition of their baptism and decision to follow Jesus Christ; and can be signed by two witnesses. There are two designs, both with the words: ‘Buried with Christ by baptism… raised to walk in newness of life’ and featuring Bible verses from Romans 6:4-6: ‘Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life… henceforth we should not serve sin.’

Blue: With a blue background against a dark blue-grey frame; a beautiful golden and blue sunrise with the sun’s rays peeking above the clouds; this one could be used for boys or girls of any age or adults. Add your child’s name!

Pink: A sweet and girly one for our girls. It has a pale pink polka dot frame, pretty blue and purple headers, yellow daffodils relaxing in a flower pot by a window, and a bright pink border. Add your child’s name!

AFTER BAPTISM, WHAT’S NEXT?

Now encourage your child to love the Lord with ALL of their heart. To get into the Word of God and get to know their Heavenly Father who created them and adores them. To talk to the Lord about anything that is on their heart, because He knows it already. To follow and obey Him implicitly. To walk with Him in holiness and purity (we’re going to be held accountable for it). Remind them that when He died for their sins, He died for ALL of them – past, present and future. We can never earn our salvation, but we can show our love for Him by obeying Him. Remember the ‘Christian’s bar of soap’ (1 John 1:9) and ask for His forgiveness when they get it wrong (because we all do, sadly). Answer any of their questions they may have, so they can deal with any doubts that might come up. Educate them about the Evil One’s wiles, because now they are serious about their faith, they will become a special target. Inspire them with a story of a real life Bible hero. They were normal people just like us, with a special plan for their lives, just as God has for each one of us. Share a favourite devotional with them. Encourage them to find a Bible-believing church, if they haven’t already, where the people also love the Lord with all their hearts. This will help feed their faith. It’s not about a to-do list. It’s all about relationship. An intimate relationship with the Creator of the Universe, the Lord Jesus Christ.
