BIBLE VERSES

And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. Genesis 7:19-20

Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. You covered it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which You had founded for them. You have set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth. Psalm 104:5-9

WHERE DID ALL THE WATER GO – NOAH’S ARK POSTER – FREE PRINTABLE

Fifteen cubits is a lot of water. Have you ever wondered… where did all that water go??? Did you know that water covers 75% of our planet? (See footnote at the end of this post). This free printable poster by Paper Gifts for Estefany shows the earth globe; but it is is not the image we normally see… we’re on the other side. This is the Pacific Ocean view.  :o

THINK SPOT

  • How could the flood cover Mt Everest? (creation.com) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; Mount Everest was not the height it is now during the Flood. Earth’s highest mountains have fossils of sea creatures at their tops, showing they were once under the sea… mountains such as the Himalayas were probably built by catastrophic movement of the earth’s continental plates during and after the Flood… Measurements indicate that the Himalayas are still rising… [and did you know there is] enough water on all the earth to cover mountains about 3 km (2 miles) high if all the ocean basins were raised.
  • Where did all the water go? (creation.com) from scientists who take the Bible seriously; If the earth’s surface were even, then there is enough water in the oceans to cover the globe to a depth of about 3 km. This suggests that, during the Flood, the ocean floor moved vertically relative to the continents, something mentioned in the Bible (Psalm 104:8). In the first half, the pre-Flood ocean basins rose and the pre-Flood continents eroded down until water covered everything. That does not mean the earth’s surface would have to be completely even. The ocean basins would have only had to rise enough for the water to cover everything. Then, in the second half of the Flood, other parts of the earth’s crust sank. The water flowed off our continents into new ocean basins. Movement of the earth’s crust at this time also pushed up new mountain ranges, including the one that is home to Mt Everest. So where did all the water go? It is in the ocean.
