Today’s FREE Scripture Doodle comes from one of my favourite passages of Scripture, and it’s also one of the most majestic and magnificent. And I found out recently this passage has a fancy theological name (scholars love to do that, don’t they?)… Kenosis… today’s piece of useless information for you to ponder :) as you colour or package it up to send to your sponsored child… enjoy!

FEATURING BIBLE VERSE
Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God. But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. [And this is where our doodle today begins] Wherefore God also has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

LET THE MAJESTY WASH OVER YOU
“This passage, known among scholars as the Kenosis, is among the most glorious sections of the New Testament. It follows the descent of the Lord Jesus Christ from the highest position in the entire universe, down to the death on the cross, and then up again to see Him seated once more on the throne of His glory, before which every knee shall bow. In only a few verses, we sweep from Christ’s life in eternity past to eternity future and are admitted to the breathtaking purposes of God in human salvation. These few verses teach the divinity of Christ, His preexistence, His equality with God the Father, and His incarnation and true humanity…” Chuck Missler

SCRIPTURE DOODLE TIP ~ HOW TO
In designing this one, I had a play with a new dingbat font: KG Flavor and Frames Three by Kimberly Geswein. A dingbat font = where you type a key and get a shape instead of an alphabetical letter. Dingbat fonts are lots of fun if you wish to have a go at making your own Scripture doodle.
