Has the church replaced Israel…? No! A thousand times no!

pixabay-Israel-star-of-david

Does your church teach or imply tbhat the church has replaced Israel? Paul, in the book of Romans, tells us that God is NOT finished with Israel. After Israel rejected their Meshiach Nagid Jesus Christ in 32 AD, God simply pushed the ‘pause’ button on Israel, so that we gentile believers could be saved (oh, glorious for us). Much error can be traced to the concept of replacement theology, that suggests that the church has replaced Israel in God’s plan. Be careful with this one. It calls God a liar!

A PUZZLE ~ THE CHURCH AND ISRAEL

Until I discovered the teaching of Dr Chuck Missler, I was always puzzled about how the church and Israel fitted together. I don’t remember receiving any direct teaching on this over the years, but somehow it was always implied that the church had replaced Israel. The Apostle Paul vehemently answers this error in Romans chapters 9–11.

Romans 9 = Israel past
Romans 10 = Israel present
Romans 11 = Israel future

Like Ruth and Naomi (who are Biblical ‘types’ for the church and Israel), the Bible makes it clear that the church and Israel have separate origins, separate missions, and separate destinies. They are unique. This is the people who gave us the Bible AND our Messiah. We serve a Jewish King, their Meshiach Nagid, or Messiah The King, although still unofficially recognised by them. This is our heritage. This is about His people. His family. He still has big plans for them.

THERE ARE 3 ‘UNTILS’ BEFORE THE RESTORATION OF ISRAEL

1. For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Romans 11:25

2. …Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Luke 21:24

3. I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their offence [What offence? It is singular and specific, that of rejecting Jesus Christ as their Meshiach Nagid] and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me earnestly. Hosea 5:15.

Throughout Israel’s troubled history, that hasn’t happened yet, so one wonders what is coming… what will it take? Jesus tells us about that one, too, the time that He calls the time of the ‘GREAT Tribulation‘, also known as ‘the time of Jacob’s Trouble‘. No wonder the evil one hates Israel so much; he is desperate to destroy them so they cannot repent and call back their Messiah. And he hates Christians because – apart from the fact that we are God’s kids – we are the ones who will tell them about Jesus. That explains a lot happening in the world today.

GOD KEEPS HIS PROMISES – THOSE HOSTILE TO ISRAEL ARE FIGHTING GOD

“In your spare time do a little research of the following nations who at one time were quite powerful:  Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Medes/Persians, Romans, Spanish, British, Russians, Germans, Ottoman Turks; or, how about the Amalakites and the Edomites or maybe individuals like Haman or Hitler? Their undoing all had to do with their “cursing” of Israel… The prophets were Jewish as well as the patriarchs, the disciples, Mary and Joseph, Paul, [our Bible] and may we never forget that Jesus, too, was Jewish…” Read more

GOD IS STILL PROTECTING ISRAEL TODAY

Read:  This is an incredible eyewitness account from one of the officers operating Israel’s Iron Dome system in July 2014. “A missile was fired… hundreds of lives were in danger… We fired an interceptive missile, which missed. The second missile missed, too, and then the third… I was shocked. We had about four more seconds… alerted the emergency services… We’d already activated the mass terror attack alert. Suddenly, with no alert from the Iron Dome system… a strong wind from the east blew the missile southward, into the sea. We were all in shock. I jumped up and yelled, “There is a G-d!!! There is a G-d!!! There is a G-d!!!” I saw this miracle with my eyes. I didn’t hear about it; no one told me about it. I saw the Hand of Hashem knocking the missile into the sea!…”  Read more

Watch:  (2 minutes) Dr. Gerald Schroeder, MIT physicist formerly of the Atomic Energy Commission, puts Israel’s unusually low casualty rate against rocket attacks into perspective from a “scientific” perspective.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT

When will the Lord Jesus Christ, the Creator, return as He promised? Somewhere in heaven is an angel with a clicker button… counting. Every time someone comes to know Jesus and accepts His forgiveness for their sins, that clicker button activates one more step. Only the Lord knows the exact number. However, the blindness towards Jesus Christ, the Meshiach Nagid (The Messiah The King) has been lifting off Israel now for several years, so many scholars think that the ‘fulness of the Gentiles’ and the promised return of Jesus Christ is very close. Are you ready?!

BIBLE VERSES

And when Jesus was come near [during the Triumphal Entry in 32AD], He beheld the city and wept over it, saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace, but now they are hid from your eyes [why? Jesus’ answer may shock you…] because you knew not the time of your visitation. Luke 19:41-44

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shall be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:2  [And when God played out this covenant agreement with Abraham in Genesis 15, He put Abraham in a sleep = the covenant was unconditional on Abraham’s part.]

[talking about Israel]…the apple of his eye. Deuteronomy 32:10

I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations… My covenant will I NOT break… Psalm 89

[Israel]…Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands. Isaiah 49:16

Acts 22:7  And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me? And I answered, Who are you, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you persecute.

The whole book of Hosea is about the heartbreak of God in regards to Israel, His estranged bride, who has rejected Him and turned to ‘other lovers’. [Note: this is something that we are also guilty of whenever we love anything more than the Lord.]

Has God cast away His people? God forbid… Romans 11:1

God is not a man, that he should lie… Numbers 23:19

…through their fall [Israel], salvation is come unto the Gentiles […why?] for to provoke them to jealousy. Romans 11:11

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we [the Jews] shall be saved, even as they [the Gentiles]Acts 15:11

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David… [that throne did not exist in Jesus’ day; it is still yet to be restored. One day our Jewish Messiah will return, to rule the world from a Jewish city, on a Jewish throne; and the capital of the world will be Jerusalem in Israel]  Luke 1:26-38

Daniel 9:24-27 tells us: Seventy weeks [of years] are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to:

(1) finish the transgression, and
(2) to make an end of sins, and
(3) to make reconciliation for iniquity, and
(4) to bring in everlasting righteousness, and
(5) to seal up the vision and prophecy, and
(6) to anoint the most Holy.
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks [69 weeks]: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks [62 weeks] shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself [this where God pushed the PAUSE button on Israel as they rejected Him as their Meshiach Nagid and brought salvation to the Gentiles instead; this pause button so far has lasted nearly 2000 years] and the people of the prince that shall come [this is a reference to the pseudo-Christ, in-place-of-Christ or anti-Christ] shall destroy the city and the sanctuary [the Romans did this in 70 AD]; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week [7 years]: and in the midst of the week [i.e. after 3 1/2 years] he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

BEWARE

“If there’s something inside you that hates Israel, that is demonic.” –Unknown

Be careful of anyone that cherry picks one isolated verse in Romans 11 (as I heard someone do recently) to back up their claim that the church has replaced Israel. This is calling God a liar. So how do we protect ourselves from error? We must protect ourselves with the WHOLE counsel of God. God is smart enough to have designed a magnificent creation, even though we only know it after the curse. He is smart enough to get an accurate and precise message to us.

Dr Chuck Missler gives a fabulous overview of Israel from Romans chapters 9 to 11. From Genesis 12 to Acts 2 in the Bible it is all about Israel; God is a God who keeps His promises – despite our (and Israel’s) failures; the blindness of Israel will only last until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in Romans 11:25. The concept that the church has replaced Israel in God’s plan is false. The Apostle Paul vehemently answers this error in Romans 9–11

Dr Chuck Missler discusses Israel and the church (video) – Israel and the church are distinctly different: they have different origins, different missions and different destinies. The idea that the church has somehow replaced Israel (replacement theology) denies Israel its place in God’s program; makes God out to be a liar. Be careful with this one. Paul spent 3 chapters in the book of Romans hammering this, and how God is NOT finished with Israel.

Articles by Dr Chuck Missler (incredible Bible teacher) about Israel – The Errors of Replacement Theology – part 1 | part 2 | Israel ~ Bible StudyThe Betrayal of the ChosenThe People of DestinyThe Unexpected King; you may like to print a copy of one of these articles for your older children or share a snippet.

Dr Chuck Missler explains Daniel’s 69 weeks – this is ASTONISHING!

DANIEL’S 70 WEEKS  This article that I have prepared for my children deals with the first 69 weeks of Daniel’s fascinating 70 week prophecy, but if you are interested, I recommend you check out these videos (part 1 | part 2) to find out more about Daniel’s 70th – and final – week.

Daniel and The Times of the Gentiles  (blueletterbible) a great article to discuss with our older children.

Triumphal Entry  It was Sir Robert Anderson of Scotland Yard in 1894 who unravelled the mystery of one of the most astonishing passages in the whole Bible. The prophet Daniel was given a precise mathematical statement as to when The Meshiach Nagid, The Messiah The King, would present Himself as King. And it was written down in ‘black and white’ nearly three centuries before Jesus Christ was born, along with hundreds of very specific prophecies that He alone in history fulfilled…

Breaking news about the most controversial piece of real estate in the world – another piece of the ‘last days’ jigsaw puzzle  The Jewish temple was completely destroyed in A.D.70 – just as Jesus said it would be; and He also told us why (fascinating). It has never been rebuilt. However Jesus also said the temple would be standing and operational during the Great Tribulation that is to come. The Jewish people have quietly been preparing everything they need for it since their return to Israel. The way things are in Jerusalem right now, what do you think the chances of a new Jewish temple happening? God is absolutely in control. Stand back and watch…

Would you help ‘Jesus’?  I remember seeing a photo of ‘Jesus’ lying on the ground, obviously in trouble and with a crown of thorns on His head. The question was asked of people like me passing by and looking at the photo, ‘Would you stop and help Jesus?’ Glancing through the responses, most everybody said, ‘Yes’. All over the world – right now – ‘Jesus’ is being attacked. Christians. And the true Jews. The kingdom of darkness is a dying kingdom. The ruler of that kingdom knows that his days are numbered and hates the ‘Jesus’ in us passionately. He can’t get to Jesus Himself. But he can get to His kids. By helping His kids, here is our opportunity to help Jesus.

Why I Stand With Israel  (khouse) Close to 80% of our Bible was written in Hebrew and came from the Jews (Torah, Tanach and all of the Poetic Writings). The Prophets were Jewish as well as the Patriarchs, the Disciples, Mary and Joseph, Paul and may we never forget that Jesus too was Jewish. He was born in Bethlehem, circumcised on the eighth day, had His bar mitzpha in Jerusalem, kept the Law of Moses, wore a prayer shawl with tzizits, never denied His Jewishness, and at His death bore the title “The King of the Jews.”
