Christianity is under Attack (answersingenesis) “…my understanding of Christianity was like starting in the middle of a movie—you took me back to the beginning—now I understand.” Why are people cynical about Christ and the gospel? Evolution is a religion that deletes God and makes human opinion supreme. Genesis DOES matter (answersingenesis) Remember: allegory is just a licence to make it up! Genesis is the history book of the universe and the foundation of all Christian doctrine – why there is sin, death and suffering; why Jesus came to earth as our redeemer (the Gospel does not make sense without Genesis as true history); marriage; why we wear clothes; where the different languages and races came from; why there are rules and right and wrong. Without Genesis the rest of the Bible – and history – does not make sense. The Creator provided an eyewitness account. Bible authors took Genesis as literal history. Jesus Christ [who is God] took Genesis as literal history and often quoted from it. So did His disciples. It also establishes the family tree of Jesus Christ all the way back to a very real Adam and Eve. And our family tree – if we could go back that far – from Noah back to Adam and Eve, too.
Did God use evolution? the best part of this video debate starts just after the 53 minute mark. Dr Randy Guliuzza (from icr.org) gives an excellent presentation, including this quote from Richard Bozarth, a prominent atheist: “Evolution destroys utterly, and finally, the very reason Jesus’ earthly life was supposedly made necessary, destroys Adam and Eve and the original sin and in the rubble you will find the sorry remains of the Son of God. If Jesus was not the redeemer who died for our sins and this is what evolution means, Christianity is nothing.“
An evolutionary biologist admits the bias against Genesis creation (creation.com) regardless of whether or not the facts support it—and why. “Our willingness to accept scientific claims that are against common sense is the key to an understanding of the real struggle between science and the supernatural. We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises… because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism… we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that materialism is an absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door…” Professor Richard Lewontin, a geneticist and self-proclaimed Marxist.
