Love / Just Because ~ Links

Valentine’s Day is a wonderful time to remind our children not only of our love for them, but also of the incredible love that God has for them which never ends. God loved them and chose them for His own. Even before the foundation of the world! And us – yes, you! What an incredible thought. It’s a FREE invitation open to anyone and the greatest love story that has ever been told. Share this great news with your child.

Looking for letter writing tips for your sponsored child? I have so many ideas bubbling over for you in various stages of the production line, but it’s hard to find time to post at the moment – I’m hoping that you are busy and finding it hard to find time to read :)  – but am posting this early for anyone wanting to make sure their valentine packages of love arrive by the due date. In this post you will find FREE Bible verses about love; valentine countdowns; make a big paper hug (love this); words of love and encouragement for your child; mini notes of love and secret treats for kids; ways to share God’s amazing love with others; as well as colouring pages, puzzles, crafts, Danish hearts, activities, games, learn to draw, photo fun, posters, bookmarks and paper gifts and lots more creative ideas. Zephaniah 3:17  The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.

Over us?! Wow!

John 15:9  As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.

John 15:13  Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

Romans 5:5  Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Romans 5:8  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8:35  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Romans 8:35-39  Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Corinthians 2:9  But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.

Can’t wait; can you?

1 Corinthians 13  If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

These are the attributes of God. His name fits perfectly. Have you ever tried to substitute your name for the word ‘love’ and see how you measure up? I have. Ye-owch!  :o

(cont…) Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

Colossians 3:12  God loved you and chose you for His own.

This is one of my favourites. I’ve made lots of bookmarks using this verse – why don’t you give it go? Add your child’s name and a pic they will love.

Colossians 3:12-14  You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you. And to all these qualities add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity.

1 John 3:1  Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!

1 John 4:10  In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Deuteronomy 6:4-5  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: and you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

Deuteronomy 7:9  Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.

Deuteronomy 10:12  And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the LORD and His statutes which I command you today for your good?

Joshua 22:5  But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Matthew 22:37  Jesus said to him, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”

Ephesians 1:4  Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love…

Matthew 5:43-44  You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.

John 13:34  A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

John 13:35  By this shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

Romans 12:10  Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another.

Romans 13:8  Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

1 Corinthians 16:14  Let all that you do be done with love.

Galatians 5:22-23  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

1 Thessalonians 3:12  And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you,

Colossians 3:12  Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

1 John 3:23  And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

1 John 4:7  Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

The incoming teacher uses that valuable piece of information to make sure that every student feels loved as they enter their classroom on the first day of school in the new year…” Encourage your child and make them feel really special with this great bookmark idea; or tell them how much you love them; easy to adapt for Valentines Day and remember to add your child’s name and a Bible verse.

I love you because  (tipjunkie) more creative ideas to tell your child how much you love them; you could also draw a page of doodles; or fill an envelope with mini love notes.*
